When businesses close in an area it usually results in the steady decline of the area. This then effects house prices, feel good factor in the community and in some cases depression. That is why I support this petition.

Once again the supermarkets will be laughing all the way to the bank. Ther is no excuse for parking meters in a local Main Street except for income generation.

Another potential example of Killing Off the traditional High Street shop in Scotland. I LOVE the small shops in Baillieston, the variety and value there ... Some folks make it a point to shop in small retailers to make sure they're supported AND the service you can receive doesn't exist in large stores with car parks. So STOP THIS POLICY ALL OVER SCOTLAND - IT LEADS TO "GHOST HIGH STREETS" - YOU KILL OFF COMMUNITIES WITH THESE MEASURES !!!

There are no off road facilities for parking so how are these shops to exist ? The east end of Glasgow is already suffering from being run down and if these shops start closing it will only add to the problem. It's about time the council started focussing on deprived areas and a car park seems such a simple solution.

Would discourage me from stopping at any of the shops in the main street if this goes ahead.

Any charges for parking is a disgrace in small local main streets - if it is to deter commuters then just have maximum stays of 2hrs - allowing locals plenty time to carry out their business and clearly not long enough for commuters to park all day - also give businesses permits allowing all day parking - no need for charges unless the council is looking for easy income

Please consider the appeals from the shop owners,or we shall be another ghost town.People will start doing all their shopping at the supermarkets where parking is free. Please be sympathetic .

I believe it will stop people going to the main street. Shop owners will lose allot of customers.

this is s ridiculous idea and the poor businesses are the ones to suffer .

I believe that the petition requests are valid and should be considered as it's important to community who shop in Baillieston and for survival of small businesses

I back this petition 100%. I think small buisness is being ruined in part by such restrictions. And apart from anything else these are measures to do nothing more than raise revenue for the city council.

This needs to happen. No one will go to the main st when this all starts.

Another parking plot which will go unpoliced, like the existing odd/even day side of the raid parking.
