Save Atlanta's Best Kept Secret - Jean Childs Young Middle School Band Program

I didn’t go to jc young but I did walk the halls of THE BENJAMIN ELIJAHS MAYS HIGH SCHOOL and I know a lot of my associates went there as well

Music programs are great creative outlets for students and help develop multiple skill sets like critical thinking, multi-tasking, working within a team and more. Plus, the benefits that music programs add to individuals helps to teach patience, refine taste in extracurricular activities, etc.

Band director who wants to keep the music alive.

Save the arts. Children need other outlets to grow.

I was in the chorus and band here. I love music and have passed it on down to my son. Don't take this away from our community please!

The band, it's influence on the the students and community, has such an important placement in this middle school. It's an emotional and mental outlet for students, while also serving as the place to better offer positive instruction and discipline. The efforts of their progress uplifts the community.

Please keep the band program.

I am an educator and a Southwest Middle Class of 1991. The arts are so important and the students of SW Atlanta deserve a band program!

As a former Soutwest Middle School student, I support all the Arts. It would be an extreme disservice to our children to start removing access!
