As a Music major I believe the Arts is very important for a childs development. I did not go to Arts High but I wish I did. I would be very upset if the school no longer exsisted.

AHS is different from all the schools. That was the main purpose since day 1. No other school focuses in art and music.

please don't shut down the Newark Schools. Especially Arts High School. A historic high school allowing students to express themselves and develop themselves at such a young age.

To say that I am shocked and appalled to learn that the so called leaders of the Newark Public School District are planning to close my beloved Alma Mater, Arts High School, would be an understatement! Arts High School is a valuable asset and integral part of history of the City of Newark. We have produced some of the most talented, creative, prominent and celebrated graduates in all areas of the arts. You are basically planning to eliminate the legacy of thousands of proud alumni. HOW DARE YOU! Governor Christie ans Ms. Anderson, we the current and former students of Arts High School will NOT take this without a fight!
