Newark cannot close down one of thee best schools. This school has birthed many stars and has taken many talented kids off the streets. AHS has been a place for the young urban teens of Newark to be able to express themselves through Art, Music, Drama, Dance and song. Taking this school away from our future young talented kids will only give them no other choice but to turn to the streets. Noone understands how important this school is unless you've attend and have been part of the Arts High School family... shutting the doors will be detrimental to the city of newark... Arts High School should remain public. It should not be used as a political pawn to induce private contracts that only help line the pockets of politicians. Let it continue to serve the community that it loves and the is loved in return.

How is it that this woman keeps taking away our schools talking about what's good for our community and she does not step foot in any of them. This school is one of the magnet schools. A school that enhances ones talents and gifts. Where is she from....maybe she should take the time to read about our wonderful school and the many accomplishments its achieved. Leave our Jaguar alone Cami.

Just because there is now a performing arts charter school in Newark doesn't mean that the public one should be done away with. Its not easy to get into Arts High or into a Charter school

As a graduate of Arts High, a Newark taxpayer and a former Newark art teacher, I feel the value and strength of Arts and want it to continue in all it's glory.

Many of my students have gone on to Arts, and done so well in life. It would be a sin to close the school.

This is just Sad News!! How could 1 of the best schools in the city be on the chopping block??? Funny how "outsiders" seem to always know what's best for inner city schools.

Arts high should stay, public. It is not a political pawn to be used to get more private contracts that are only beneficial to politicians and not the community it serves.

This is the school that saved my life. The school that produced Sarah Vaughan , Tisha Campbell-Martin, Frankie Negron, Kat Deluna, Melba Moore, JD Williams And Michael B. Jordan to name a few. This school has existed for many years and has educated Newarks children in the the arts as well as in academics. Do not close this school!

Cami Anderson has no idea what she is doing. Arts High School is an institution of Newark. In a world where the arts are not valued (even though it is one of our biggest exports) schools like this stand in the gap. It's alumni know the value of being in a place where you are taught and encouraged to follow your dreams. Keeps Arts and get rid of Cami Anderson.

I was a Student of this great institution before bad behavior had me expelled. I can say in the 2 years I'd attended I learned alot and made a few friends I consider life long. Keep this School open!
