Apu is being cut from the Simpsons for ridiculous reasons, some people think the Simpsons team is being "racist" by including Apu, the people who want to get him cut believe that him working in the Kwik-E-Mart and having a thick accent is racist. if that's racist then all of the Simpsons should be cut, Cleetus has a thick accent and he is a racial stereotype of an American, should he be cut? no. Willie has a thick Scottish accent and often does things that would be considered stereotyping if it was Apu. we need to save Apu! say no to the people who believe its racist! save Apu!.

I honestly cannot believe how fast this is moving right now because the support is actually insane and it feels like people are finally realizing that these character changes just do not make any sense (seriously why stop at one person when the whole show is built on tropes). Everyone is talking about this and I have been refreshing the page non-stop since I woke up today.

Apu is an honest, hardworking, admirable entrepreneur who is a good example for all Americans.
Every character on the Simpsons & most comedy plays off of stereotypes. Nerds. Scouts. Christians. Jews. Actors. American Dads & Moms. Athletes. Teachers. Countless Cities and Countries. Gay people. Rich. Poor. Mentally Ill (Cat lady!). Scotsman. Doctors. Lawyers. And so many more. Which 'politically correct' group with a bullhorn will come after some other character or plot point in the Simpsons or some other series? Stand up for free speech, artistic expression and in the case of Apu, a hard-working American trying to feed his many children.

Oh yes! Bill Cosby is my favourite person of colour! As a brain surgeon married to a high-powered attorney, he is an inspiration to every hardworking young coloured lad! Who would want to to be like Apu when you can be a Bill Cosby?
