When businesses get greedy, they lose their minds. They forget about the environment, the surroundings, and especially the long-term effect. They just don't see it. My friends, I ask for you to share this in hopes of giving the awareness to protect our environment and to keep it that way.

Feedmix is an aquatic specialty company who sells high quality fish food products and is planning on setup up a facility in Patar. They guarantee a "bounty harvest every time..." to give "our customers' profitability and complete satisfaction..."

I'm not against that.

What I am against is the environmental impact that tends to arise with fish farming. This is especially alarming, considering that feedmix is planning on building a factory along the coastlines of our beautiful Patar beach in the Philippines. This is a no brainer! Large amounts of pollution either through waste generation or landscaping will leak and disrupt the natural beauty of the area. Even with the most stringent of waste reduction policies a company could have, factories will still generate waste with toxic effects in the surroundings.

As many are unaware, Patar, Bolinao is a growing tourist attraction where visitors come to admire the natural landscape and pristine waters. This obviously will have a direct impact on the tourism that is currently rising in our province. This will also impact the already declining natural habitats and places untouched by human intervention.

It is shameful to even see Feedmix's motto as:

"Aasenso ang negosyo mo!"

which translates to:

"Your business will grow!"

This is truly disgusting and a real representation of the true mindset of Philippine businesses with no regard to environment, stability and sustainability--just profits. They have no initiative, no research done, no clue what environmental impact they will be causing with their products. In fact, there are no real science to prove their business and technical claims. They are setting up a business attached to open waters without any clue on their effects. Absolutely disgusting!

Continue to share this to shed some light into this issue and to bring awareness to businesses like this who do not believe in sustainability nor environmental care. We should be focusing on sustainable, environmentally friendly, and ecological sensible ways for human sustenance. As Filipinos who hold the highest pride in our culture, but we should also hold pride to our natural wonders.
