The School Board and the Realtors in this area are working together to force this proposed school site on the citizens of this area. No studies have been done on the safety factors, sewer, utlities, and the impact it would have on the people who live and use this road on a daily basis. It is all about money, If you build a school there, you can build housing developments and increase the tax base. One feeds the other. It would take at least 30 minutes for someone who lives in Timberlake to get to Chapin, another 30 min. to get to Columbia. Has any study been done as to the number of people living in this area who commute to Columbia for work, does anyone really know the number of cars on this road in one 24 hr period? The SC Highway Dept does have record of the number of car accidents on this road, Has anyone from the school district even asked about that? or do they really care, There is 40 some acres available in the town of Chapin behind the Town Hall, Why is that site being ignored and a site "HAS" to be build on Amicks Ferry. Could it be because that would benefit the real estate and housing industry? We also understand that the present elementary schools in this district were build where they could be expanded to handle more students. What has happened to that idea, Oh, it would not benefit the realtors because they could not sell the land at an overpriced amount to a school district for a new school. Conflict of interest?????

The road will not be able to handle the increased volume of traffic the way it is presently set up. In that area of the road there is no secondary egress. There is only one way out of that end of Amicks Ferry until you reach the fire station. In the event of a disaster, or need to evacuate, it will cause undo stress on the school and the residents. If other property has already been purchased, then that needs to be evaluated as a more viable option.

The current roads cannot support the traffic that will be created with a school. The district should consider alternative locations that are better suited.

Bus on Amicks at Lever Creek subdivision at Richardson's heating and air..waited for at least eight minutes for one parent to drive to the bus stop to drop child off to get on the bus. Traffic backed up. 15 extra minutes of commute time. Please contact the school board and administrators.

Nothing against the school, but traffic is already to congested. Also I think more accidents will happen because people can't drive like they have any sense. It's a me first world.

Absolutely opposed to school on Amick's Ferry. Infrastructure is completely inadequate. Urge enrollment study to be made public, Strongly urge consideration to add on .....more cost effective than new construction. Be considerate of our tax $$$$$.

I am adamantly opposed to this. Amick's Ferry Road can not, by any stretch of the imagination, cope with this.

I do not believe this is appropriate use of our tax dollars nor do I like not having a say in how our community funds are being used. I support education just not this idea. Another example of poor county planning without consideration of the traffic burden or the residents.

How many school buildings do we really need? I would rather see the money spent on truly educational items...like teachers. In lieu of that, just save the money!

Will inevitably cause the road to be sudden which means loss of property to some. I always believe it is more important to save the rights of property owners when it is clearly foreseeable!
