Has anyone associated with the school district actually completed a study to verify an additional school is needed and Amicks Ferry Rd. is the best location?

Why put a school on Amicks Ferry Rd. when current schools can be expanded. Traffic on Amicks ferry is already horrible.

This will ruin Amick's ferry!!!! Nooooooooo. I've lived down Amick's ferry my whole life. Putting a school down there is insane.

We have owned our vacation home for 5 yrs. now and have seen the traffic worsen every year. We are off of Lake Tide Rd. and adding a school at our intersection of Amicks Ferry Rd. would be an absolutely horrible idea. Please No !!!

Have we not just created more room for grades 9-12 students by building Spring Hill High School which just saw its first graduating class last year? Have we not created more room for students with the building onto Chapin High? Have we not just created an entirely new Middle School for grades 7-8 next to Spring Hill? Chapin Intermediate formerly served grades 6-8 and now serves grades 5 and 6 exclusively. Did not moving fifth grade out of the elementary school open room for growth in grades K-4? How can it be that we so suddenly need yet another school and not be that we need to expand the many schools already in existence ? Putting a new school on a peninsula is simply obsurd ! Simple common sense dictates that there is a better solution does it not?

The land cost too much for the school district to buy and then they will also have to widen the road, costing money and people losing their front yards.

As a current resident living in this area, increased traffic on Amicks Ferry is a serious concern, as this is a winding road with very narrow shoulders. Also, concern for emergency vehicle access, additional traffic congestion with construction vehicles, delays for residents traveling into Chapin town limits, are a few reasons I am against the building of a school on Amicks Ferry.

I am glad people are finally realizing how many on this school board just love spending our money, then are always whining they need more. Attend a few meetings and see how rude and dismissing some of them are.

Locating a (needed ?) school where there is traffic concerns NOW and paying considerably more for the property than area comps is something I will not support.. Also with the possible shut down of of the reactor project the area may face a economic down turn and population reduction. A lake Drive resident.

We live off of Amicks ferry. I am OK with growth in Chapin but it needs to be done carefully and slowly. There are already several neighborhoods going up around town.
