The proposed Amick's Ferry Road school plan is irresponsible of District 5. Think again!

With only one way in and one way out of Amicks Ferry Road, this school would bring nothing but traffic, accidents, and major delays. If there is an accident no one will be able to get through. People needing to get to work and get to the other schools will be inconvenienced with traffic and huge delays. Farmers and livestock will be shaken. There are plenty of other spots that a new school can go that can accommodate for two way traffic and more than one way in and out to get to a school. It's bad enough we have so many new houses being built on and around Amicks Ferry that will already lead to more cars and more traffic, we DO NOT NEED a new school on Amicks Ferry or down Amicks Ferry Road to add to this. Thank you.

The majority of the new housing developments are NOT in this area, they are east of Chapin. This school would disrupt a quiet area on a "one way only into town" road and bring even more traffic through an already overly congested center of Chapin. This school makes no sense in any way, shape or form. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

Too many questions for a bad idea. Traffic on the already congested two lane Amicks Ferry road is TERRIBLE. Where would these 8,700 new cars be coming from? What's happening to the Mt. Vernon Church property that has already been purchased for a school? That property would be a much better location rather than this one located just beyond "Chicken Coup Curve". What a nightmare this would be!

I cannot think of a more dangerous and less desirable place for a school! Our traffic situation is already a nightmare and this will only further complicate matters. I am strongly opposed to this recommendation.

I wouldn't have known about this if an informed citizen hadn't told me. Seems the district should be contacting the public about any upcoming bond issue, tax vote, etc...

Without a doubt I disagree. This area has a habit of proceeding with development without consideration of the residents and with only the consideration of contractors. What happened to announcing the proposal to the public and getting feedback as how our dollars are spent. It's as if they think they know better what's good for us.

I disagree with building a school on Amicks Ferry Road when land has already been purchased on Mt. Vernon church road for building a school. There is too much traffic on Amicks Ferry Road now. This just doesn't make much sense when the road is one way in and one way out.. The last improvement on the road has already proved that there is not enough space to make a difference in the traffic flow. Short of running already existing residents off there properties how do you purpose to make traffic flow better. There has to be more outlets for the amount of population you that is already there. By adding a school and the planned housing developments you are setting the residents up for a castastrophic event to happen. Should a fire break out residents would not be able to get out and emergency vehicles and equipment would not be able to get in. Betsy Black United States, Chapi
