A terrible idea from people that obviously have no clue about the area. I imagine a developer approached them with this idea. We need to unite to STOP this is it's tracks.

The developers are selling our schools! Every new sub division advertises, "Chapin Schools"! The developers don't pay an infrastructure fee nor do they contribute to the schools. They create chaos, taketheir profits, and leave us with a school bond; and county council thinks that is growth.

Amicks Ferry is a nightmare already. This is NO place for a school. Just think, if there is a fire and a truck must get out of the Amicks Ferry station, there is nowhere for anyone to pull off the road to allow the trucks to pass. Obviously those considering this are not those who live beyond the proposed location. DO NOT BUILD A SCHOOL ON AMICKS FERRY!

Against a school being built on this road....the residents down Amicks Ferry (just past proposed location) have one way in and one way out. Increasing congestion is not only inconvenient, but unsafe.

There are numerous points of concern that come with building a school on Amicks Ferry Road. I believe the most impact will come from additional development that always follows the construction of schools in our district. All one needs to do is ride by Spring Hill High School, Ballentine Elementary, or Lake Murray Elementary to witness this. More subdivisions will bring more traffic to a road that was just inadequately upgraded (minimal shoulders). Numerous teenage drivers already travel this curvy, dangerous road every morning and afternoon to get to/from school. More thought needs to be put into location and the Board members need to actually visit the proposed location before continuing with due diligence. In our District, Dutch Fork Elementary is a fine example of a school built on a major thoroughfare. Traffic in front of that school is a nightmare for parents and commuters. We do not need to repeat this mistake on a main artery of transportation for people living in the Caro Lane, Night Harbor, Timberlake areas of Chapin. It is, quite simply, shortsighted.

The area may need another school but on a 2 lane road with no alternate route for residents is not a good solution

This parcel is not right for the school. However the 48 acres behind Town Hall would be a much better location. Traffic jams and ingress and egress would be much easier on all concerned. Lex-5 already has property back there with the athletic fields
