Keep the pools open! This area has limited public pools and this facility is beneficial.

I was shocked to learn with such short notice that AWC is planning to close. It’s a community treasure for health and wellness! Please reconsider and get community input. Reed’s Crossing is a great planned development and losing AWC will be a huge negative. I’m in the Beaverton area and still choose AWC as my favorite fitness center.

Please don’t close! Hillsboro is still growing. This is a huge loss to a lot of us.

Would it be possible to keep existing members and not sign new ones? Especially for pool access. Or a slower transition based on how many rehab patients arrive? Maybe a shared space?

Please do NOT remove this hub for wellness in the heart of South Hillsboro.

Improve signage, improve the marketing in 2 mile radius, you’d have the client base you would need to thrive. Target the boomers & 30-40 somethings, corporate wellness discounts.

As a Reed’s Crossing resident, PE teacher, and soon-to-be parent, I rely on the Active Wellness Center to keep myself, my students, and my neighbors healthy—physically and mentally. Shutting down the very facility that delivers preventive care, swim lessons, youth sports, and senior fitness contradicts Providence’s stated mission of building healthier communities. Sports-medicine clinics are valuable, but they treat injuries after they happen; the Center prevents them in the first place. Please pause the closure, meet with us publicly, and preserve the indoor and outdoor pools that make South Hillsboro a model for walkable, wellness-first living. Our community’s health shouldn’t be sacrificed in the name of repurposing space.

We just joined and then get the message they are closing. I have friends who go here and one lives next to it in the Ackerly and has counted on her access to this club for health and social needs. Thus is a crime. Keep Active open!

I am a Providence member and I strongly believe that this is an investment that is paying off in community health benefits. If you do not want to maintain it, perhaps you can swap the existing pools for nearby property to build your Sports medicine and Physical Therapy facilities. Maybe the community can participate in a trade that has the community responsible for the pools, and Providence can use another nearby property.
Keep it open please!!
