The Arts are an integral part of public education. Kean University's College of Education is an example that our public schools look to for standards of best practice. Dance is a form of communication as well as art and fitness/well being. What are the priorities that would take away this funding?

I love this organization and was apart of it all 5 years I attended Kean. I believe it should have the support of Kean university 100%!

Some of these kids have been dancing since they were toddlers and took advantage of the opportunity to continue their love of dance in college. Others discovered a newfound love of dance through this organization. As a parent, it has made me proud to still see my daughter performing on stage beyond high school. Please do not cut funding for this program! It is a worthy organization and those kids deserve to dance!

As a former dancer and Kean student this is awful. These girls need a place to go and dance. Dancing is s great part of these girls lives and would be an absolute nightmare if they were no longer able to come and dance.

I am a 1987 graduate. I have attended the Kean Gala and The Cougar Cup Golf outing annually for many years now. Obviously we do these things in order to help fund many things, including University activities and scholarships. Can we please find a way to continue to support the Dance Ensemble, and perhaps cut back in another areas that receive at least some or more of their funding from their own group's revenue generating efforts (maybe groups that are more revenue generating on their own than the Dance Ensemble)? Can we re-assess all funding to see where else we might be able to cut back without having to cut this out? The Dance Ensemble may not be able to support itself at this time, but it's a beautifully cultural area of the University, worthy of assistance and continuance. Thank you!

Being a member of KDT literally changed my life. Being a member of this group was the absolute most rewarding experience and I wouldn't trade it for the world. It breaks my heart to hear this news, not only because of the beautiful history of the program, but how the this will change the future. It makes me sad to think how this will not allow people to have the amazing experience I had; the amazing experience we all had. This program NEEDS to be saved.

KDT meant so much to me during my UG years at Kean. Apart from expressing myself through an art form that is so very much a part of me, I was able to participate in a community like no other. I formed bonds that I still treasure, and developed skills that I still use today, 10 years later, both on and off the dance floor. Please keep this group alive for the generations of students to come.

years after the 80's,90's and 2000's. Students need a pre-professional dance environment at Kean. Education is more than just going to class daily. Keep the Dream alive!

Please do not let the Kean Dance Theatre end. I was a member of KDT, as an undergrad under the tutorledge and mentorship of William Chaison in during 1980"s, because of KDT and contributions to students at Kean, I am now and have been an adjunct and full-time dance teacher. During a time when students began their college experience and are overwhelmed by the pressured of college KDT was an oasis. The Kean Dance theatre presented work at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.(represent Kean) at the National College Dance Festival 1984 and 1987. The dance theatre has continued to participate in the National College Dance Festival for many
