I live in Wedgwood and I do not want bike lanes on both sides of 35th street. This plan will lead to gridlock and injuries.

Why put a bike lane in just four blocks up the hill from one that's already in place and being used. Traffic is already bad on 35th and there would be no where to park. Folks will continue to use 39th since it's directly connected to the Burke Gilman trail.

The notion of putting bicycle lanes *everywhere* has gone overboard to the point of becoming a joke. I understand the "chicken and egg" problem but I don't think this will really get more people out of their cars and onto bikes, so let's save some costs in this situation and use it in more constructive ways such as adding more buses. That's a transportation mode that serves EVERYONE, not just those who are able to ride bikes.

Bikers can travel N/S on 39th Ave NE an already established bike route. The benefits to a small group of bikers that would use this if far outweighed by the negative impacts on traffic flow, parking for businesses, library and places of worship.

The plan to eliminate traffic capacity for nonexistent bicycle traffic is disconnected from reality. As a long time resident of this community, my observation is that the bicycle lanes that have been created, on 75th Street for example, go largely unused. There is very little bicycle traffic on 35th. I simply don't understand the logic behind this plan. It is likely to create far more traffic and accident problems than it will solve.

The greenway on 39th Ave NE is safer for cyclists and considers businesses, church goers, library users, residents and pedestrians who use 35th NE

There is already a bike route on 38th, so this is an unnecessary use of taxpayer funds.

Bike lanes on 35th Ave NE are unnecessary and will create a huge negative impediment to traffic. After the street was re-paved several years ago, parking was allowed on both sides, dangerously narrowing the lanes of moving traffic. What's needed is to prohibit parking on one side of 35th between NE 55th St and NE 70th St and widen the lanes for moving traffic. As it is now, buses often cannot get past cars moving toward them and must wait for a line of cars to go through before they can go.

This will only worsen flow-time, which not only impacts drivers, but bus riders as well as emergency vehicles. Imagine traffic backed up in two directions with an emergency vehicle stuck behind traffic. There would not be anywhere for the traffic to move over to allow the vehicle through.
As we have greater density, parking will be next to impossible, thereby affecting local businesses.

This development would be absolutely terrible for this neighborhood and community. There is insufficient road flow as it is, and no parking alternatives for the majority of residents who are not using this as a bike arterial. Also, there are plenty of safer, more appropriate bike options close by. This is. very narrow road and could be quite dangerous for bikes. With the increase in traffic throughout the city, this would be a terrible development for increasing congestion and worsening traffic. This will be terrible for those of us who live here and use this neighborhood, and dangerous for people riding bikes.

Parking is so hard to find!! Why on earth would you make it even HARDER? This will crowd the residential streets with cars that will prevent people from parking in front of their homes. I don’t see how this could possibly be a good solution.

Better public transportation, additional lit crosswalks, and protected left turns is what 35th area residents need. Not more bike lanes which are already underutilized, especially during colder and rainier months.
