SAVE 35th AVE NE

I'm progressively for bike lanes in general but this choice is an error. Please review again.

It.s a no brainer. The city spent lots of money to create the bike route on 39th. Why are they re-inventing the wheel?

Bicycles already have a greenway a few blocks away. Eliminating parking and adding bike lanes to an already congested 35th causes more traffic on side streets and negatively impacts the neighborhood. Where will people park to visit the LOCAL businesses??

Start listening to the neighborhood. A better use of funds would be a shuttle on 35th every 10 minutes to the light rail.

Please keep our parking on 35th - this is the only business district in the area and we need to be able to park to support those businesses. Bike lanes are better kept on the other streets to the east and west of 35th.

Please do not break yet another street in this neighborhood against the will of the majority of users, the businesses on the street and the neighbors on the adjacent streets who will be impacted by this poorly thought out misuse of our tax money.

No more bike lanes! How can we keep planning our city around the minority? It’s got to stop.

No bike lanes on 35th!! Bikes should stay on the 39th Ave greenway.

Bike lanes resulting in one car lane each way without space for a center turn lane will cause extreme congestion, and traffic diversion to side streets. (And NE 75th after getting similar bike lanes often has many-blocks'-long lines of very-slow-moving cars even though it has center turn lanes! ) The elimination of parking will hurt businesses, churches, and the Seattle Public Library on 35th, and increase parking congestion on nearby residential streets.

The proposed plan will overload traffic on 35th as there will be fewer lanes and buses will block traffic even more than now. Some elements make sense (e.g., move all parking to one side and allow parking 24/7), but overall the plan needs further review.

Top priority- do not add bicycle lanes, make sure buses can stop on the sides and not block lanes

Added bike lanes on 35th would severely hamper traffic flow on one of the major north-south arterials on the north end. Aren't all traffic lanes already legal bike lanes according to the traffic code? This is money that can be better spent on other needed street safety issues. While I understand why some want more bike lanes, there is already a bike lane and the trail very close to 35th. This is a neighborhood with many families and it rains a lot. Some of us cannot work and bike our kids all over town to their activities in the pouring rain. Until light rail is everywhere, I’ll be in my car regardless of how many bike lanes are sitting empty in our city.

Already have bike lanes on 39th.

Eliminating all street parking is a mistake and car traffic will increase on the adjacent residential streets. Frustration will increase. Dangerous for families and children.

With an expensive and functional greenway on 39th, there is no reason to give over 35th NE to bicycles. Reducing parking by 60% is a deliberate attempt to destroy businesses on that street. NOT EVERYONE can or will use a bicycle as their exclusive mode of transport. Bicyclists are NOT the only constituency in the neighborhoods along this vital street.

This road is not a bikeway for others: it is a place for people, stores, nearby parking. I deplore this plan and demand the City put community first and not bike riders.

What 35th Ave NE needs much more than bike lanes is lighted crosswalks and a LEFT TURN SIGNAL and pocket lane at the intersection of 35th and NE 75th St (going north/south). Those two things will be much better than the current plan.
