Bike lanes on arterial streets are crazy. I drive a lot all over this city for work. I have more near misses with bikes on streets with these new bike lanes than any where else. As a former David cyclist, I would never ride in those lanes. Just crazy.

We have too many people in cars in Seattle
39th is not safe.
Cars ignore the stop signs.
I am a cyclist and was hit on 39th by a driver who did not stop.
Please support seattle dot in making 35th a safe place

I would like to have SDOT review the Bike Master Plan, to find alternative bike routes that are away from busy streets. 39th Ave NE is a nice greenway as is, and making 30th/29th Ave NE a greenway would be a very practical, safe alternative.

Why don’t they reduce walkway requirements, planting strip width and think outside the box rather than put the people who live in the neighborhood in a box. I’m totally against any bike traffic on 35th. Try 39th...it goes North and South too

I've commented elsewhere on this and feel that the people in city planning are not listening. Remember those who would be cavalier in public policy will nary suffer the consequences of such. I work, live, bike, walk, drive, and bus in the neighborhood. I have since 1996. Don't screw up the neighborhood by taking away parking and further crowding the already narrow streets. Thank you.

Very disappointed in the planning of and placement of bike lanes on major thoroughfares. Bike lanes should be routed on streets with low traffic for everyone's safety and traffic flow efficiency.

I grew up in Seattle and have been an avid cyclist my whole life, I grew up racing bikes as a child and have been a member of the Cascade Bicycle Club off and on for many years. I realize part of what they do is lobby for changes like this. I am 100% not in favor of this change to 35th Ave NE. Not because I live in the same neighborhood this proposed lane alteration to our pavement is, it is because it is not necessary. 35th Ave NE is a major Arterial in NE Seattle and requires access for Commercial trucks, parking etc. The road is already crowded and backed up everyday and this will only make it worse. My question to the ones that want this unnecessary spending of our City money is why don't you ride or drive down 39th from NE 55th all the way up to 85th with no traffic? It is like 200 yards away, four whole streets. I hope you all have a nice day and thanks for reading.

I agree with all of the afore mentioned arguments against this proposal, plus it doesn't take into consideration the added inconvenience for those residents living on 35th NE. Imagine the numerous trips from far off parking spaces with arms full of groceries and or youngsters on a rainy night.

The bicycle plan more difficult for the elderly and those with small children. Not to mention that 35th Ave NE is an ill advised location for bike lanes. The city should be focusing on helping all residents with expanded bus service.
