It makes no sense at all to do this to 35th NE. It will only create more problems. With approx. 5 streets between arterials why not use them for safe bike routes. If this poorly thought out plan goes through then cars (ie., people in a hurry, etc.) will use these streets to avoid 35th, and will create a very dangerous neighborhood environment. This is only one of many dangerous problems it will create.

Restore 35th to a vehicle centric route so traffic can flow. The cyclists can use 38th/39th, the cars can't. Further who decided to favor the few cyclists - erver even see one on 75th? - vs. vehicles?

The proposed bike lane changes on 35th NE will be bad for our neighborhood residents and for our neighborhood businesses. Surely the city knows the taxpayers are paying their salaries and for all these ridiculous plans – – shouldn’t the City listen to the taxpayers? We don’t want The bike lanes on 35 NE.

The bike lane on 39th Ave has already been built and tailored to bike traffic only four blocks east. The only North-South road with any ability to move busses and people by car efficiently is 35th Ave. there are better alternatives already in place than to put bike lanes on a main artery for safety and sanity.

There is currently an excellent bike route from the Burk Gilman trail going north on 39th NE. This is a safer route for the riders. The proposed 35th NE route will endanger riders and create usage conditions for drivers.

Adding turn lane signals along 35th Ave NE at the major intersections is a long overdue improvement. However, eliminating parking on the west side of 35th Ave NE to add bike lanes will only push parked cars into the surrounding residential neighborhoods, often illegally crowding driveways and roundabouts. In addition, as an occasional biker, riding on a less crowded residential street with some bike lane designation is significantly preferred.

Emergency vehicles need to get through. The SDOT plan will add valuable minutes to their transport time. If your goal is to move people, how about a dedicated bus lane. I bicycle! But not on 35th - even if you put in a dedicated bike lane. Please listen to the people who live in this area. A small example of this bicycle-centric thinking can be seen between the Burke Gilman and Sand Point Way NE on NE 65th St. Now the metro buses can't even make the turn onto 65th. Brilliant use of tax payer money. C'mon! Please. Has the fire chief really signed off on this? Did you even ask stations 39 and 40?
