You will reduce the value of my property - I live on the 7000 block of 36th Street, and my block will be overrun with traffic and parked cars. This is not a safe alternative for pedestrians, bicyclists or cars and will also damage the local business on 35th. Please rethink this plan.

SDOT continues to say they are concerned about traffic but they seem to be determined to make it worse by their concerted plans to eliminate cars. Safety sounds good but is just a red herring to hide what their real objectives seem to be. Leave 35th alone and to something constructive.

As a frequent bike commuter, I see no reason why we need bike lanes on 35th NE. There are plenty of quiet, pleasant parallel streets. 35th is already congested. This plan would make it much worse.

When I ride my bike through the neighborhood, I use the avenues to the east and west of 35th. This makes for a much more pleasant and much less dangerous ride. 35th is far from perfect, but in its current condition, it’s good enough. Sometimes it’s best to leave good enough alone. This is one of those times.

35th is a heavily used arterial. I have seen a growth in traffic density ever year. There are far too many choke points already ( 75th when someone is turning left). Narrowing each side of the avenue for bikes will make it much, much worse.

There are many more suitable side streets to create bike lanes, including one already existing on 39th Ave NE. This plan inconveniences businesses, bus riders, walkers and families with young children. Please use the money for projects that enhance the safety of the neighborhood, like a cross walk at the post office on 35th Ave NE.

This is not a plan that fits our neighborhood. Its obvious that the engineers have not been out here nor have they inquired in any true and authentic fashion to the needs and thoughts of the residents. Stop and adjust the plan to work for everyone.

We have 3 children. My husband bikes to Capital hill every day for his work. He rides on 35th and on side streets and would never use a bike lane. They are too dangerous. I drive when we need to do errands, get the kids to their music and sports events. I need to park on 35th to go to the library, drop mail at the over busy Post office and more. We need a cross walk at the Post office and other key areas and the lighted ones are much safer. We do Not need bike lanes!! Stop and listen to what we are telling you!

Eliminating parking on 35th NE for bike lanes is a bad idea. There are plenty of side streets including a bike lane 3 blocks to the east (38th NE). How many businesses will go under for the marginal convenience a few bicyclists?

The City needs to start listening to its citizens and tax payers. We want safe ways to cross the street, and easy and effective transportation and parking for seniors and handicapped, of which I am both. I am 74, and need a cane and walker at times. I use the bus and family drive over to take me to my appointments. Are you considering me and my family in this plan? I think not.

This is crazy. We have a bike lane on 39th. Ave that travels the same distance on a much safer street. Why is it that this city gets a few extra tax dollars and all they want to do is blow it on in-needed pet project. Oh, by the way I'm a average bicyclist who lives 1 block off this street, I won't use this route.

This is not a plan that works for our community. We have a perfectly fine bike lane on 39th and want to have efficient traffic along 35th for buses to get to light rail easily.

I am a disabled resident of this neighborhood and these bike lanes would negatively impact my access to these businesses. I am also senior Industrial Engineer and I do not see how this will improve traffic flow or improve pedestrian safety.

Restore all street parking on the west side of 35th.
Remove designated bicycle lanes on both sides of the street.
Improve pedestrian safety by adding flashing crosswalk lights at more intersections, not just 80th. E.g., NE 60th, 72nd, 77th, and 87th.
Change the design to better meet our transportation and accessibility needs.
