I have observed less then 10 bikers per day on the bike paths in North Seattle, wow, embarrassing for the City Council. I work on 2nd ave downtown and from my office window no one uses the bike lane except 10 people a day too. In fact, the delivery bike people go down the main 2nd ave street in traffic, figure it out Council!!! Kerry

Bikes are not options for everyone. Already bike lanes on 25th and greenway 3 blocks away. I love biking but I need to be able to drive as well.

Why move forward on more bike lanes when the ones that have already been built are such a disaster? Nobody uses them, they give a false sense of security to the three people that use them, and as a cyclist I’d prefer the lanes to be on SIDE STREETS. The lanes make the roads less safe (more congested) for all. Perform some scientific based research on the true effectiveness of these lanes vs. the negative consequences rather than some anecdotal script repeated by elected officials that have no business speaking for the constituents that mistakenly voted them in....

The city needs to rethink their entire bike lane strategy. Put these paths on less traveled roads so that they are safer, don’t impact vehicle flow, and can balance both commute types.

You’ve already ruined virtually every other N/S arterial in Seattle - enough already! There used to be an efficient system in place to take the stress off of I-5 and 99 but now, we’ve got a mess - all for the benefit of a handful of people versus the greater population.

This is just another example of how changing an extremely unsafe pseudo 4 lane road to something better will not adversely affect vehicle traffic at all. But will absolutely be safer for pedestrians and cyclists. Suck it wedgwood ale house. Relocate to the suburbs maybe?

35th Street is too narrow a street to accommodate cars, bus traffic, and bikes. It is a dangerous road for bikes to be travelling.

No bike lane on 35th! There are plenty of bike lanes in NE Seattle already and this busy thoroughfare is NOT the right street to put an additional, unneeded bike lane.

Please leave 35th Ave NE for cars and buses. Increase signage for bikes to go to use alternate routes like the Greenway on 39th. As a cyclist myself, I see 35th Ave NE as too busy to be a safe route; I would always choose a side street over 35th. I know the residents value their parking as well, especially with the recent density increases in the neighbourhood.

The number of bikers in relation to the number of drivers on 35th makes the idea of putting in yet another sparsely used bike lane in Seattle infuriating. It’s a flat out waste of taxpayers’ money. There is too much driver usage in an area where we already need more available road space to waste it on the few bikers that would utilize it on a daily basis.

This proposed plan is unfriendly to older people, who need to use their cars. And the plan really threatens small businesses.
If you really want people to use public transport more, start by having a shuttle going up (westward) on NE 95th from Sand Point Way, turning left (south) on 35th NE, to the corner of 35th NE and NE 65th, and back. Also, Metro needs to restore bus service to downtown from NE Seattle. It is too difficult reaching light rail.
Definitely, DO install left-turn lanes onto NE 75th from 35th NE.
It's insanity to remove any parking from the 6800 block of 35th NE, or to remove the bus stops at NE 68th. It's already difficult to find parking at, or near, the library.
