This is a costly project that did not include properly informing the neighborhoods. We need our small businesses to thrive. They need ample parking to do this. Parking is already lacking. I have lived in Wedgwood my entire life and I am an avid walker, transit and I support bike options but not the overbearing fiscal costs they have brought. I walk to many of the businesses on the corridor. A majority of the patrons drive cars to enjoy what these businesses have to offer. This whole process follows the lead of our current president. How sad!!

With 68% of the neighborhood opposed the elected officials of City Hall would be wise to listen...neither the history of traffic accidents nor the peak hour volumes of traffic support a "road diet" for 35th Ave NE.

As a disabled senior concerned about the environment, I applaud increased bike use by those who are able and when they are able. That said, from my perspective, 35th is something of an arterial. It, like many Seattle streets, is frequently busy, and seems to have been designed not anticipating future traffic levels. Local businesses depend upon parking near their shops, I think that encouraging bikers to travel on adjacent streets would make their commute more pleasant and safer. I support maintaining parking on 35th Ave. NE

I live on 35th ave NE. I do not support the current repaving plan. I do support bike lanes on wider streets, but most of 35th is too narrow to include 2 bike lanes, 1 lane of cars traveling in each direction and 1 lane of parked cars. Removing the bus stop near the library is a bad plan. We also need left turn signals at 65th and 55th. Traffic already backs up at those intersections during peak traffic times. This plan is going to increase traffic back up and those cars are going to move to the side streets, which are packed with parked cars lining both sides of the street. Buses and emergency vehicle traffic will be problematic with this repaving plan.

The traffic congestion on our streets is beyond capacity now. Decreasing the ability of cars to move on the major neighborhood streets to create access for the few bikers in this city is ridiculous. McGinn was soundly voted out of office because of this idiotic plan. His plan should have been cancelled with his departure. Now this plan should be brought up for a public vote before it was continues.
I think that the public voice was heard on this subject with his sound defeat.

We live on 40th Ave in Wedgewood and completely relyt our 35th Ave businesses. We strongly oppose SDOT's plan for west side of 35th

Our family bikes on the side streets just fine. We also drive on 35th along with the other thousands of cars. We normally walk on the side streets because with all of the cars its noisy and sometimes stinky. Let's not try to turn an arterial into a bike freeway, too. It's unhealthy and dangerous mixing those cars coming into the city on 35th Ave NE with bikes. Best to focus on other ways to reduce cars especially with upzoning which will increase density along with more UW and Children's Hospital continued expansion. Many of those people cannot just take to bikes especially 3 seasons of the year or when carting kids and groceries or running the "busy" program. Let's focus on transit solutions, ride share, neighborhood shuttles (not even being talked about currently), and other ideas people have. Simply converting parking and driving lanes to bike lanes doesn't solve the problems we need addressed to make our city and neighborhood more livable and vibrant. Thank you.

This is going to push cars on side streets, back up traffic and very few bikes are going to use the bike lanes. We know that because we never see anyone on 75th, Roosevelt, etc. Why don't you listen to us? We pay your salaries!
