I am confounded, and only slightly amused at the focus on cycling in regards to this plan. It appears that people do not understand that cycling infrastructure is built for the benefit of the motorist NOT the cyclist. Cyclists already have parity ( legally speaking ) with every other vehicle on the road. It is the motorist that wants to fly down the road unimpeded, which is exactly the opportunity the bicycle lane provides. The 35th redesign plan has much to offer beyond the lines-and-signs that people seem to fear so much. Just grab a cup of coffee and observe what goes on during rush hour between 70th and 80th some day. The patterns of flow disruption ( if observed objectively ) may surprise you.

Keep parking on west side of street. Your analysis that parking is currently underutilized is flawed. You're going to increase the number of safety hazards by removing parking from west side of street where the library and vast majority of businesses exist. You should listen to your constituents on this matter. We live here and know better what these changes will impact. Thank you!

Not a balanced analysis, Benefits for a minority weighted higher than benfits for a majority. Skews the outcome. The small number of ultimate bikers will benefit at the expense of the greater number of commuters. Losers will be 40th (e.g. Thorton Elementary), Wedgwood side streets, business with non transactional customers and no parking ( e.g yoga, exercise).

Just viewed the city plan for 35th st, and I have to say it's a beautiful design. Commerce will boom. If the motorists want wide open roads without cyclists, there is a very expensive one just a few miles west of 35th. The speed limit is 60 miles per hour and never gets clogged up by bicycles.

IF bicyclists used 35th and
IF there were no bicycle lanes within blocks and
IF there was better parking available for businesses on 35th and
IF bicyclists followed the rules of the road and
IF a bicycle land had not been placed on NE 125th that NO ONE uses
Then and only then
I MIGHT think a bike lane on 35th made sense
but
IT DOES NOT MAKE ANY SENSE!!!!!!!!

This area has already given bicyclists adequate bike designated areas; 39th Ave and Burke Gilman. To have designated bike lanes on 35th impacts too heavily both homes and businesses and would make it impossible to get around buses and garbage trucks. This increases the chance of more car accidents

Making this change will eliminate the closest parking to my job. I will have to park into the neighborhood, and the homeowners are not going to like strangers by them. That is what our customers will have to do as well. I am tired of bicyclists that get anything they want without following the rules of the road or paying tabs.

Don't ruin the neighborhood. With increasingly dense housing we need 35th to stay a vibrant retail community. Removing parking will destroy the retailers ability to operate. Bad tradeoff. Move biking to adjacent streets/green trail routes.

Destroy parking, hurt local business, overcrowding on side streets. Bikers Should have to register their bikes and pay for an annual license plate fee. Bikers do Nothing to help maintain our present Bike paths. Do not ruin our local neighborhoods.

I am a regular cyclist and completely agree that biking on quite side street is MUCH better than on a major road even in dedicated lane. But in addition to riding my bike I often do need to drive places.
We need more parking, not less.
