Nothing needs fixing. 35th is just fine the way it is. Why make it a major thoroughfare?

We already have 39th for bike lanes. 35th is only 4 blocks away from 39th and parallel to a street tax payers already paid money to make into a safe street for bikers. Making 35th another bike lane street is redundant, very expensive and will increase traffic on 35th. There already has been an increase in traffic over the last 3-5 years. This will make it much worse and impossible for those of us living in this area to get anywhere. There are businesses, churches, synagogues that all will lose parking in front of their places thus making it more challenging for older or infirm people to go to the places along 35th.

If you want to see how bad this idea is ask rob Johnson why wsdot told him that 36th would be a better choice. He is a bicyclist and he is the one pushing for 35th for bikes. Get behind a car turning left at 35th on to 55th with cars coming North and you will see part of the problem. Trash trucks, buses and large vehicle have to cross lane now just to go down that street. We are giving into the 17,000 bicyclists that use our roads and don’t pay for it. License bikes and their drivers, ad ticket everyone that doesn’t wear a helmet. I do not stop at crossings for bikes. They hav3 stop signs, I don’t.

Many small businesses along 35th depend on the availability of parking. There are already safe routes for bicycling parallel to 35th on quiet side streets. Please do not destroy our local businesses, they form an essential part of our community, both in terms of jobs and services.

There is a safe, dedicated bike lane 4 blocks east of 35th! We do not need to add another one on 35th Ave NE. SDOT, leave 35th Ave NE alone!

I am all for bicycle commuting and riding but whatever happened to the Greenways idea. They were supposed to parallel arterials for bicycles to make bicycling safer for all. It will also not impact businesses on 35th. Publicize the one that currently exists.

I live on 35th Ave. NE (7706 35th Ave NE), I have seen the large volume of traffic and congestion on 35th throughout the day. We do not need anymore. This is a horrible idea! I am a registered voter and I will hold the Mayor and those politicians who vote for this measure accountable during the next election.

Seattle City Hall has been hijacked by some small but vocal interest groups. Bikers are one of those groups who wants their way at the expense of all other citizens of Seattle. BIKERS HAVE TO BE TAXED THROUGH BIKE LICENSE PLATES like cars if they want to have their own .lanes

Tired of the City of Seattle pandering to a very small but vocal portion of the population and not listening to the majority. Businesses along 35NE cannot survive without street parking. Small business being killed by the city. Bring back street parking.

Supporting bicyclists is well intentioned , but choosing busy streets like 35th not only makes traffic and parking for the many business and neighbors worse but also is UNSAFE for the bicyclists as well.
More logical would be to expand the already existing north south bike corridor or use the wider 40th or 45th avenues NE.
NE 75th street is a great example of worsening traffic flow on this busy corridor. Any parent of a student would be loath to have their child ride in the open bike lanes to school on 75th. I rarely see any byciclists use 75th and they gave all been adults. Wasted space and money, and much worse traffic flow on this vital east west corridor. It will be worse and impact businesses on 35th.

Please, PLEASE do not reduce the circulation of vehicles. The city is growing on motor vehicles and with the increase of urban density we need to deal with motor traffic logistic.
