This is just plain selfish on the city council's end. We cannot have a bike lane going through this arterial! I can hardly find parking as it is on weekends!

There are many businesses on 35th that will be detrimentally affected by the great decrease in street parking. Those of us that frequent those businesses will have to find other locations for our business.

There is already a good bike route on 39th, connecting to the Burke Gilman trail. 35th is steeper than 39th and more difficult to bike - not sure how many bikers will really use it.

35th Ave is narrow as it is. It would be dangerous for bicyclists as well as automobiles. 39th Ave is a shared road for bicycles and automobiles. Any bicyclist should be able to ride 4 blocks over to this safer route.

Bikes should be required to go down the side streets. Didn't Children's hospital have to put in stop signs on 39th so bikes could travel down that street.

45th street is already clogged and parking is so tight. Accidents with lack of visability are high as well

The cost is ridiculous, the benefit is to few, why would we do this? Bike lanes are absolutely important, but they have no business being on an arterial. Why would bikers even want that?!?! Put them on a neighborhood side street and keep everyone safe.

Previous comments and the petition statement of facts have summed up well the reasons for not installing the bike lanes on 35th; there are easy and less expensive options using the parallel residential side streets. Other project aspects such as RRFB xwalks and improved signalization at 35th & 75th are great.
More importantly is to stop Seattle's ongoing war against private vehicles thru travel lane and parking removal to benefit an extremely small cycling community. The few hard core experienced cyclists are perfectly capable of riding on shared roadways. Other casual users should stick to the parks and dedicated recreational bike paths if they can't deal with other traffic.
Through the gas tax, private vehicles are the funding source for the roadway system. If a group/entity wishes a separate, dedicated bicycle facility, pay for them through taxes/user fees on bikes, bike gear, etc., and don't expect to usurp the existing arterials for your dedicated use.

Please stop this project. As a cycle commuter who rides 2500 miles a year. I use 39th and it is great. Keep the traffic flowing on 35th. We do not need to slow down the traffic on an arterial. The cars will go through the neighborhoods and make things even more dangerous. So me the stats on collisions. I don't think you should spend 12 million dollars a mile for a small number of riders that use 35th. They are riding it now so why change it.

I oppose the 35th Ave bike lane. Local business need the parking and there is inadequate off 35th Ave parking.

Please do not take away the street parking for the local businesses I love, we need all the help we can get to keep residents supporting local stores as larger chains come in and reduce their business. I love to bike around the city and it would be a great idea to put the lanes on sides streets, the trip time is not different and it would be safer for riders anyways. We would also love flashing crosswalks as 35th is very difficult to cross with all the blind corners. If you'd like to make the street safe, increase the distance a car is not allowed to park from the corner so that cars can see oncoming traffic rather than taking it away.
