SAVE 35th AVE NE

Stop ruining our neighborhoods, SDOT! Many citizens won't ride the bus and can't ride a bike. Get a clue! Seattle arterials WITHOUT any of your "improvements" are the fastest and least congested routes to drive!

The proposed change will possibly help a minority of the population but clearly harm the vast majority. There are alternate bike route streets that should be pursued.

Do not put bike lane on 35th. Use side streets for bikes. Do not reduce available parking on 35th

I live just south of NE65th@45th NE. I commute by bike 3 days/week. I do not think a bike lane on 35th NE is a significant improvement in bicycle commuting. I would remind your that this section is uphill, and a perfectly safe and reasonable route is the bike route on 39th Ave NE. Speed is dangerous reP: bicycle routes. The downhill section of 35th is problemtic, with potential cross route traffic. 39th Ave NE is VERY safe and adequate.

Stop this madness we are close enough to the Burke Gilman use that and leave 35th Ave alone!

Don’t wreck neighborhoods like you’ve wrecked downtown and created about the worst traffic possible.

Please leave NE 35th Street as it is. Until Seattle has citywide trains (and more than one line), this is devastating to everyone. Enough pandering to the few. Anyone who votes for this should try running a carpool from a bike!

I am a local resident and a bicyclist. I know for a fact that there is a greenway on 39th all the way north at least to 98th. We do not need an additional bike lane on 35th; in fact, we need the businesses and the parking to remain intact.

Keep our parking on 35th ave NE and put the bike lanes on other adjacent streets which are safer for bikers.

It is imperative to stop SDOT projects that help only the bicycle mafia and degrade the efficiency of our roads for all traffic.

There is already an excellent bike path just east of 35th. There are higher priority streets and roads for bike safety and paths in Seattle.

35th is a main arterial. The closest arterial to it is 25th Ave NE. It seems logical to me that if there is an existing bike path only 4 blocks from 35th, there is no reason to make congestion worse on 35th by adding another bike path on 35th, thus diverting people over to 25th. There are many, many side streets in the area too, that bicyclists can travel much easier than cars

I have been deeply disappointed in the city’s failure to listen to the residents of northeast Seattle. I have lived in my current home since 1972 and in the area since 1957. This is a neighborhood of WALKERS. We walk to the library, local businesses, play fields, etc. The majority do not ride bicycles. I acknowledge that those who do should feel safe when riding and thought that was the purpose of the 39th NE Bike Greenway. Please take some time to hear what residents are saying - perhaps there can be some compromise. Currently, however, I feel like there is a complete unwillingness to listen.

Bicyclists already have safe alternative routes. We need to keep 35th more accessible for the elderly and disabled in our neighborhood. They have rights, too, even if they are less vocal. And our local businesses NEED the parking.

I bike, and this is a terrible idea. We have safe alternatives on nearby streets.

There is a road just 4 blocks east that is already set aside for bicyclists. This seems redundant. Also, with all the building going on on 35th, taking away more parking will be difficult for everyone.

I want crosswalks, not bike lanes.

We are both cyclists. We live close to the post office. Bike lanes will be horrid along 35th. We will never use them. Use the money for a greenway on 30th!
