This beautiful home is of historical import and must be saved and maintained. JP has lost far too many beautiful homes to development. We can’t continue to tear homes down and expect the character of our community to remain.

For the record, I know the house well. With the right development project it can be restored and all costs would be financed within the project with a condominium conversion/sale leaving the owner debt free with one of the units.

This should be a candidate for conversion to affordable housing; it's one of the grandest houses in the neighborhood, comparable to many mansions on the Pondside of JP.

When I first moved to this part of the neighborhood, this house impressed me more than any other one. Where else can you see such a majestic front porch ! A historical house like that could do more to attract and rally people than any regular structure either traditional or modern. Besides that, people living close to this house should be given a preference voice. WE are the community !

I have been inside this home and can attest to its graceful proportions and good bones. The facade is a distinctive example of the neoclassical designs that were so popular at the time of its construction. As someone who used to work in the trades, I can say that I've seen buildings in similar (or worse) condition restored to their former glory. A lot of work? Sure, but it would be worth it.
