I am against the proposed rezoning of 8515 Sardis Road (i.e. the single family home directly across the street from the Fletcher School). The proposed rezoning will allow the property to be transformed from a single family home to the construction of twelve (12) townhouses on a small 1.74 acre lot. * Rezoning is INCONSISTENT in the character of all surrounding properties (single family detached homes) * Rezoning is INCONSISTENT with City of Charlotte's South District Plan for long-range planning (recommends single family residential land use, at a density of three units per acre) * Rezoning is INCONSISTENT with City of Charlotte's precedent of rezoning residential properties (not comparable to historical rezoning projects completed +20 years ago)

Traffic is already terrible in this area of Sardis Rd. and this higher density will only exacerbate the problem.

This is an absurd project for the property. And it will be directly across the street from a school for children with special needs. The whole thing is a bad idea.

This was add to congestion on Sardis, especially during school drop off and pick-up hours at The Fletcher school. There are no lights along Sardis and during heavy traffic times, it is extremely difficult to get out of neighborhoods along side streets. This development would be included in that and the residents would have an especially difficult time during those high traffic times. Also there aren’t any other housing developments like this along Sardis.

The traffic is overpowering anyway, certain times of day we cannot get out of the neighborhood

Sardis Road is already congested enough. Plus the beauty of this location would be destroyed by continuing to tear down natural space.

Traffic already backs up from Hwy.51 to our neighborhood of Oak Creek Estates. We do not need high density housing in our area. It will also decrease the value of our properties when buyers purchase these units to use them as rental properties.

This will create a traffic nightmare and devalue existing properties.

Considering the traffic and flooding of the area, I think this irresponsible on the part of city and builders. Also, I don't like to think of the loss of wildlife due to the traffic and its speed on Sardis.

Density is far too high for that parcel. Strips value from existing homeowners for the benefit of developers who will be long gone once the project is complete. Most importantly, it adds to congestion at that area. Ingress and egress is not safe with the congestion.

I'd love for the developer to have to commute on Sardis North. Every day, morning and evening. Just try it once, in fact.

This development is completely contradictory to the surrounding development standards.

It seems rezoning if for many dwellings on 1 lot or a gigantic house on 1 lot completely ruining the integrity of the neighborhood.

I live close to this location. Resining this property for these townhomes will cause significant congestion at a place that is already congested.

Please Do not build condos! We our a family neighborhood. What you are planning to build will destroy this area and the wild life as well as creating traffic jam!

Will Charlotte ever get firm with developers? Letting them jam as much as possible in a small space not designated for that use. It’s unfair to property owners that have made that their home based in a large part on its zoning.

Do not redone Sardis

The city is out-of-control. Developers are obviously paying off some people. I say NO-NO-NO to rezoning.
