This rezoning proposal is absurd. It is ridiculous on it face to convert one lot zoned R3 to R8MF amongst stably maintained residential properties. There are insufficient buffers, it is out of character with the neighborhood and will create heavy traffic in an already highly congested area.

This type of zoning is completely inconsistent with the surroundings neighborhood and will exacerbate an already busy and dangerous section of Sardis Rd (school, hill and merging traffic from Brackenbury).

Please do not pack these units onto this beautiful land, already stripped of its mature trees. 6 units maybe. Let’s have some foresight. Traffic has already become a problem on Sardis and throughout the Charlotte area due to the greed of developers and others involved. Be reasonable. Let’s strike a balance here.

That is too many townhomes is such a small parcel of land. Please be considerate of the people’s homes whose privacy will be impacted. They purchased their property next to a single-family home which had plenty of space and natural beauty.

I oppose the proposed rezoning of the property at 8515
Sardis Road. The intrusive nature of the proposed townhouse project and the significant loss of privacy to our established single-family neighborhood is totally unacceptable. The quiet neighborhood life that we now enjoy is to be forfeited for the benefit of developers trying to ill-place a group of townhouses in a much too small area with total disregard for our homes, property values, and way of life of our families. The townhouse project is not a good fit for the limited space available nor the existing culture of our neighborhood.
Those who will suffer the most are the homes whose properties immediately abut 8515 Sardis Road. They would bear the barrage of the close noise of cars, trucks, service vehicles, trash and refuse depository all day, every day, ongoing. In essence, all of this activity would be taking place in their backyards. This is totally unacceptable.
Developers will not be living here - we will, and we deserve to continue to enjoy our homes and our neighborhood. It is not right to rob us of our existing way of life for the benefit of developers.

Rezoning established single family neighhborhoods or areas is a horrible idea for Charlotte's future. This proposal sets a terrible precedent for Charlotte and sides heavily with developers at the cost of longtime residents. To wedge this plan in behind existing houses will ruin these people's quiality of living. This area has been zoned this way for a reason. All of Charlotte should not be turned into Southend or NoDa with congestion and heavy traffic. This proposal should not be appoved and is inconsistent with the area.

We have lived in the Oak Creek neighborhood for over 20 years the whole time enjoying the neighborhood's unique character. To allow this development to take root in violation of the South District Plan would not only threaten our neighborhood's integrity, but would also set a precedent for other developments that would likely destroy the coherence of the district plan that has allowed the area to prosper.

As a 20+ yr resident this is completely out of character with the neighborhood & area. The plan presented falls short on width of access roads; has no space for emergency and garbage vehicles to turn around & is unsafe for their residents as well as the public at large.

I have lived in the area for 6 years, and one of the main reasons I bought this house was because of the uniqueness of this area. It was not planned to be an R8 zone for good reason. Please keep with the city plan and keep this area zoned R3!

My family has lived in this neighborhood since 1979. We have watched the neighborhood grow and mature into a lovely single family home community. Along with growth has come increasing Sardis Rd. traffic. An apartment complex in the proposed location will destroy the integrity of a single family home community and exacerbate the traffic problem. We are opposed to the rezoning plan.

This project does not comply with the current surrounding communities. A townhome complex will negatively affect current home values, add to an already dangerous traffic situation and destroying the integrity of the neighborhood.
