Attended this COPE approved lecture at SECO and it was fantastic. I’m better at prescribing lenses for patients with Refractive Amblyopia after attending this lecture.

I support the Sanet-Vergara protocol as the best method for addressing amblyopia. It is effective and we have been using this methodology to address our amblyopia populations with great effectiveness❣️

I don't think it should be required to patch children for amblyopia treatment. It does not allow for development of binocularity.

I fully endorse Dr. Winters suggestion. Occlusion therapy is no longer the mainstay of amblyopia therapy. While PEDIG studies have helped shed light on some aspects of amblyopia therapy, it would be limiting if not misleading to suggest that this is the only valid approach.

The Sanet - Vergara protocol is absolutely the best method to address amblyopia. It is a shame it is not taught more and shoud be taught in optometry schools.

Continuing Education is about learning new procedures. Making advances to better treat the community we live in.

The research presented is by leading doctors within the field and years of experience and knowledge. It provided a prospective to treatment and did not conflict with the standards of treatment protocols in which are not 100% effective as we know. In fact, the utilization of lenses only is an effective approach and is part of PEDIG standard protocol. The presenters presented utilizing lenses in the treatment of amblyopia. I have not changed my treatment protocols in office after this lecture, however I have added a level of option approach when current protocols have failed. After this lecture I applied the method to objectively measure and quantify the lens to prescribe as well as the quality of lens to prescribe and have seen progress in patient treatment in which I had not seen with current standard in treatment. I am looking forward to learning and seeing more research on this. I feel VERY strongly that this lecture should easily be COPE approved as it allows us doctors a perspective and additive option on evaluating the lenses to prescribe for treatment especially when all else have failed. We are obligated to our patients to provide them with all their options and highest standards of visual care that can allow them the gaining of sight.

excellent courses based on personal research and an in-depth knowledge of the visual system

This protocol works and it is necessary for more doctors in the Eyecare field to be aware of it and to help more patients easily and more quickly.
