This petition is to improve the beach volleyball facility at Lake Bottom Park. Some of the proposed improvements would be adding a second court, rebuild using official specifications, and landscape to blend with the natural surrounds of the lower park. The current condition at this facility does not meet specifications causing it to be unsafe, thus unused by area players. In addition to safety concerns the current design does not work well with the aesthetics of the lower park area. The volleyball facility, like the other sports facilities at Lake Bottom, should also meet specifications.
I have been meeting with park maintenance staff this week to discuss the specific safety hazards of the sand and the lack of proper boundary lines. Please send an email to your local parks department representative demanding they review these court specifications immediately.

We hit a real turning point today as more players recognize that our park facilities have been ignored for too long. Call your city council representative this afternoon to demand they view these plans. Post the link to your neighborhood group and tell them why we need safe courts now.

Fix it up. More courts means more people active. Simple as that.

The sand is basically just dirt and rocks now. Totally unplayable. Need a proper court out there ASAP.

PLEASE fix these courts! My friends and I used to play here all the time but now you just twist your ankle. What a waste of a good park spot.
