The postal service finally confirmed they are keeping our Sanborn office open. This fight felt endless and exhausting at times but we forced them to listen to our community. Keep watching their plans just in case they decide to try this again.

Final supporters
The United States Postal Service (USPS) is considering a consolidation plan that would merge the Sanborn, New York Post Office with the Niagara Falls-LaSalle Post Office, resulting in the elimination of vital services at the Sanborn location. This ill-conceived idea should not go forward.
The Sanborn Post Office serves thousands of residents of the area, many local businesses, the Niagara-Wheatfield School District, the Orleans-Niagara BOCES School District and Niagara County Community College, which recently constructed a 400-room dormitory.
Logistically, this consolidation is a bad idea, as the proposed re-location is nearly 10 miles away. When you factor in the fact that the Sanborn location is one of the few postal locations in Western New York that actually generates revenue for the Postal Service, it is plain to see that this plan is not in the best interests of the USPS or the residents, schools and businesses of this community.
Please sign the ipetition Opposing the Consolidation of the Sanborn Post Office. The petition will be sent to the United State Postal Service, Congresswoman Louise Slaughter and United States Senators Kirsten Gillibrand and Charles Schumer.

LEAVE SANBORN ALONE! We have enough traffic already, dont make us drive to niagara falls for everything.
My local business relies on this office every single day. Closing it would just kill the convenience for all of us.
We need this place. Please dont move it.
Ridiculous to think people should have to drive all the way to LaSalle for simple mail services. Keep our office open.
This is ridiculous. Sanborn needs its own office with the college right there and all those new dorms. Stop cutting corners.

Bad idea. The town is growing not shrinking. Seems like they arent looking at the actual map.
