Although I like living in the San Marco area, I’ve had to resort to ear plugs to sleep at night. I don’t have a solution as it’s required by law to blast the horn 4x. A bit softer blasts maybe, since I can hear it 1/2 mile away with closed windows..

I live at Hendricks & River Oaks. The horns over night are increasingly a disruptance. I have noticed much louder horns in the early morning hours (3-5am) over the past months.

I am against any change to the historic and rural feel of South Riverside/Town of Philips . I am struggling to understand why someone would move to a community built around the train system and not expect noise I have lived in Pine Forest for 56 years love the noise love the trains love being stuck in traffic and counting the number of cars South Jacksonville is not for everybody, relocation to a cookie cutter community might be a better solution. Don't change the beauty of our community with barriers and please no more of those yellow poles on river oaks road. God Bless Southside !!!

Training passing now at 8:29pm I’m told they are supposed to blow horn 4 times to alert drivers but this train blew 11 times and that’s just what I counted after I noticed the horn constantly blowing

I used to kind of like it but I understand it has become more frequents and intrusive, so something should be done.

I don't currently live in San Marco but I can say that when we were house-hunting in Jax a few years ago, I specifically refused to look at any home within 4-5 blocks of the crossings. Knowing what I do now about horn noise, I wouldn't purchase within a mile of a crossing....Quiet Zones will improve your life and your health. Sleep matters.

I live directly on the tracks and some of the horns are unnerving. I understand alerting people of the train to avoid accidents, but there should be a better way. When we are outside, the horn, especially some of them that depress the horn way too long, takes my breath away. Even short quick bursts would be better than the long continuous horn.

I live on "old" San Jose and have often thought about downsizing to the other side of Hendricks, but won't due to trains! THe noise MUST be affecting their property values.
