I leave my top loading machine open after every use so that it can dry out completely. We also use very little bleach, but yet the dispenser started rusting out after less than 3 years of use. It's also rusted out around the soap dispenser! Very frustrating to spend this kind of money and it rusts out. Purchased the extended warranty, however, now they say rust is cosmetic and not covered. Yes, rust is cosmetic and I bought the Samsung because it was supposed to be a good product and looked nice. Now I have a rust bucket of a machine!!

My washer developed rust around the bleach dispenser several years ago and it continues to worsen. My washer is not very old and I find it very frustrating. I am glad to see I am not the only one having this problem and people are attempting to get this fixed.
We had the same problem with our top loading Samsung washer. Please note that it is now under recall due to another issue that's proven to be very dangerous.

We do not use bleach, so I do not yet have rust around the bleach dispenser. However, I do have plenty of rust around the detergent dispenser. The design of this product is terrible. Having the detergent dispenser slide under the lid to come in direct contact with the metal was a terrible idea. This situation needs to be remedied by Samsung immediately.

Rust is surrounding the plastic bleach dispenser. Had a 10 year warranty. Called Company which handles repairs and they refuse to fix it. I am sure that the rust will continue to get worse.
