Final supporters
We, the parents of Sunlake Academy of Math and Science (SAMS), are asking Charter Schools Associates (CSA) to reconsider the acceptance of Principal Marisa Martinez’s resignation. In doing so, we also ask CSA to fully support Principal Martinez in her decisions and efforts to make SAMS the great school we all hope it will become under her exceptional direction.
We, the undersigned, wholeheartedly support Principal Martinez at the helm for the 2019-2020 school year. It would bring a tremendous amount of stability to our children and our school community – something we are needing desperately. We also believe the fall out and stigma associated with a third year/third principal tag would take year of recovery, something many families aren’t willing to wait out.
Please reevaluate the resignation of Principal Marisa Martinez. She has been a fantastic asset to the SAMS community and we feel given the support from CSA, and with this first year foundation, this next year will be fantastic. Thank you.

The silence from the board has been heavy lately but it only confirms how much they are ignoring the instability they created. I am still pushing for answers behind the scenes while our community continues to weather this uncertainty. This fight is taking a toll on all of us yet we remain committed to bringing the leadership our children deserve back to the building.

I agree with everything this petition states. I am especially concerned about having a 3rd Principal in my son's 3rd year. I was raised that you stood up to bullies. I hope CSA will do the same.
Losing this principle would truly be a loss for the school. We need to stand up for our principals and teachers and not let a few parents bully their way through the system.. if people would have waited and let the school finalize their findings without pressuring for a statement this would have never happened.
Mrs.Martinez is an amazing person who tries to connect with her students. I had the oppertunity of working with her at the Mother Daughter cupcake wars. She has a way of making sure every individual has a chance to shine.
Marissa is one of the best principals I have ever worked for. Where she goes, I want to go. PLEASE, PLEASE bring her back and give her a raise!
I have been in Hillsborough County school system, private and public for 12 years and she is the best principal we have had in that time frame. Bring her back. Losing her is a disadvantage to our school and children.
Marisa Martinez leaving Sunlake Academy of Math and Science was THE BEST thing that could happen to this school. A full year later all parents will agree with this statement! In fact, Mrs. Martinez should of been fired much sooner! New administration took care of Mrs. Martinez mess and moved forward making Sunlake a better place for both students and employees. It's sad how many families and teachers left Sunlake because of unethical and unprofessional behaviors of Marisa Martinez. Having her as a leader was the worst year for our school. Only handful of people signed this petition - less than 10% of Sunlake families - it speaks for itself!

This school needs consistency. I believe another principal change would be detrimental to the school’s progress.
