Hello my name is Abbey Roberts, I am asking people to sign my petition and to share it around networks for other people to sign, for introducing single parent and same sex families on children's TV, whether this is new programmes or introduced to current ones. From my resereach I have to collect 100,000 signatures and hope to get them all to raise awareness. Children need to be able to understand different types of family structures and not just the steryotypical nuclear family (mum, dad, child). If this petiton suceceeds children that are in these families will understand they are not any different and they are not 'abnormal', they are the same as everyone else. Children need to understand it's okay not to have a mum, or a dad or to be in a same sex family.
