Variable health fund rebates unfairly penalise Country Australians without access to Preferred Provider networks and restrict a patient's right to choose their own provider without fear or influence from the threat of financial disadvantage.
Patients shouldn't have to choose a health provider they don't feel comfortable with and they shouldn't have to drive for hours to avoid paying higher out of pocket expenses while paying the same insurance premiums as others.
We request the abolition of Preferred Provider Schemes and the establishment of the same rebate for a same premium.

I have been staring at these emails all morning and it honestly just breaks my heart reading how many of you are driving for hours or skipping checkups entirely just to avoid those massive out of pocket costs. It shouldn't be this hard to get basic care when we are all paying the exact same premiums as everyone else in the city, and frankly I am exhausted by the silence from the people who actually have the power to fix this.

I was looking at the screen just now and felt my heart jump because this is actually starting to look like a real movement. It is honestly wild to think about how many people are tired of driving for hours or settling for providers they do not trust just because their insurance company says so, and I am grateful for everyone who keeps pushing this forward.

total rort. if i move 2 hours away i get more back for the exact same insurance policy. absolute joke.
Needs to change. Stop punishing people for living in the country.
Finally someone said it! Getting sick out here in the bush is way too expensive compared to the city. My family has been ripped off for years.
It is not fair at all. We pay the same premiums as the city people. We should get the same cover.
Living in regional QLD and it is ridiculous that I pay full price but get half the rebate because there isn't a preferred dentist for 300km. Fix this mess.
