I have been nominated for Women in Architecture Award!
The Women in Architecture Award would give a post-recession (or at least post first 3 years of recession!) pat on the back to a working mother, running a micro practice, employing between 3 and 5 people and aiming for Good Architecture, albeit projects are of a small scale, mostly domestic refurbishments and kitchen extensions . There is probably an army of us out there, not famous, not wealthy, but hard working and aspiring. We look at Zaha Hadid with awe before wiping away tears of joy on our aprons and returning to the washing up and drawing through the night on an extension, ensuring that it is well detailed, that there is plenty of light and that it delivers delight.
We'd love this award! Just for the pure unadulterated positive discrimination of it and if you would sign the petition I would be grateful. Thank you!

Totally agree. People always look at the huge firms but the real heart of architecture is in these smaller projects. Good luck!
YES! So tired of seeing only the million dollar projects get all the awards. Keep doing your thing.
Go Sam! Its about time the smaller firms got some recognition. You work so hard and your designs are beautiful.
We need more women in this field getting noticed. Your work is amazing.
