I think the neighborhood is a great neighborhood always silently no trouble or anything

Preserve those structures that their owners want to preserve. Allow the rest to develop or redevelop without so many restrictions and delays. ULD requirements already guide development. This wonderful area and great location seems very seedy in some areas full of shot gun apartments that owners wont redevelop or sell because of the restrictions. Other neighborhoods near downtown have redeveloped beautifully. Not Sailboat Bend.

Property development and improvements in Sailboat Bend should be in accordance with the regulations and ordinances that govern all of the other neighborhoods in Fort Lauderdale. The Historic District classification unfairly promotes inequity between Sailboat Bend and other Ft Lauderdale neighborhoods.

I agree enough is enough, these restrictions have held this neighbor hood back for 2 decades. “Enough is Enough” !

I object to the proposed update which restricts Sailboat Bend homeowners unfairly.

Postpone any changes until a thorough and comprehensive, post pandemic, in person discussions with residence and home owners of sailboat band once again is possible

Stop all changes. Please remove the Historic Overlay from Sailboat Bend and treat ur the same as everyone else in Fort Lauderdale. Stop this injustice. Stop discriminating against us.

I was under the impression that we were discussing the removal of restrictions not increasing of restrictions . The majority of the residents want this restrictions removed . The original codes were enacted many years ago by the residents . The resident now want them removed . There is no reason to follow there desire.

I hope that the City and residence can reach a satisfying compromise.

This is a must !

SBHD's draconian restrictions stop me from fully enjoying the home, land, and neighborhood in which I worked my entire life to live. SBHD's restrictions are holding back property values across the area with its arbitrary restrictions, stopping me and my neighbors from tasteful additions and renovations to their own homes. We, the home and property owners of Sailboat Bend, implore the city of Fort Lauderdale to withdraw restrictions on reasonable private use of our land and property, citing the Bert J. Harris, Jr., Private Property Rights Protection Act as precedent. To continue imposing SHBA restrictions would place unprecedented financial harm during a time of unprecedented financial uncertainty.

We need less restrictions, not more.
