Having Basis at 128th St is a safety concern. It took me longer to have my house plans approved by the city if Scottsdale than Basis' plans. Due diligence has not been served!

Will 1,200 children cross Shea or stand on 128th or Cochise (no sidewalks) if the school has to evacuate for fire or another emergency? NOT SAFE!

The potential for dangerous traffic, no sidewalks for walking, and lack of proper enclosed school grounds is Monumental ! A very Bad Idea for a school , especially a private

The site is NOT safe for students and young children along a six lane road with cars going in excess of 50 mph. There MUST be a better location. BASIS is a great school and there is no argument about the business and positive contribution they make - BUT safety is first for our young people. This is not an appropriate property for this school.

We live at 134th and Shea and see this as a safety issue at our intersection, 6 blocks away.

Shea is already a heavily traveled commuter road that will become even more so as Fountain Hills continues to develop. The high amount of vehicular traffic produced by a school during peak travel times will cause an unnecessary traffic light that adds to the burden of traffic flow. Additionally, the impact to already developed neighborhoods is likely to have a detrimental effect on property values and residents peaceful enjoyment of their homes and properties.

I live in Scottsdale Mountain near Basis school and twice a day during the week 136 Street is blocked with traffic for drop off and pick up. Safety is an issue on 136 Street with all the High School students parking in the old Bashas shopping center across the street and walking to Basis School.

Please consider the long term consequences of this plan and recognize the obvious safety issues this site poses to students, the neighborhood and commuters along the Shea corridor. There are plenty of better options for a school of this size in Scottsdale that won't pose a public safety risk. The land is inexpensive, but the costs of increased safety risk is too high to bear.

The location is unsafe. BASIS has been less than forthcoming in this process and did not entertain changes at all until backed into it by repeated neighborhood pressure. Changes are still not adequate because the location is flawed. BASIS attorneys still maintain they don't even have to interact with us because State Law lets them proceed however they please. How can State Law hold them less accountable to safety than public and private schools? That is just wrong. Lastly - why does BASIS need or want to cut corners on this small lot when it has the chance to build its showcase #1 ranked school in the country? With a $100 million grant at its disposal, none of this makes sense.

As a parent of 4 children currently residing in this neighborhood, this location is clearly unsafe and inappropriate to build a school. You were elected to represent the citizens of this neighborhood, not a corporation that is trying to push through an inadequate and unsafe school location. Please represent us and oppose this plan.

This is a bad location for a school. My son and daughter were in an accident at the intersection of 128 Street and She Blvd. Luckily it only resulted in some stitches but could have been much worse. people on she drive fast and crossing traffic is dangerous.

The proposed Basis plan simply will not work in reality contrary to what they believe. Frustrated parents will find alternate routes to drop off and pick up their children. This will add additional dangers to the surrounding streets that were never designed to handle that much traffic. The city has the responsibility to protect the current residents first and foremost and I urge the council members to remember this.
