ARE OUR KIDS SAFE? Does having a right to choose a bad school site matter more than a student or citizens life, YES or NO?

We do not want Basis to build on the proposed site in Scottsdale near DMH high school!

I am opposed to Basics plan to built in a the proposed location.

IS ANYONE PAYING ATTENTION TO THE SAFETY OF OUR CHILDREN? The volume of traffic today in and around DMHS/MMS and Basis is already unsafe. Unsafe for both DMHS/MMS kids as well as Basis kids. I am a resident near 128th and Via Linda. The traffic today is already dangerous for students going to and from DMHS and MMS (and even the Basis kids up near 136th and 132nd). Building a bigger school will increase volumes of traffic well beyond what is already a dangerous situation as parents will use Via to 136th as an alternative route. Hello is anybody there? Wake up!

Don't put a school at that location

there is already SO much traffic at 124/shea on school days with desert mtn hs, moutainside middle and anasazi. accidents are very frequent. this is an extreme safety issue and traffic issue. school should NOT be approved.

Keep Basis out of residential areas!

There was a recent accident involving a school teacher at 124th and Shea. This area does not need a large school serving grades K-12. Located in this area you can already find an elementary, middle and high school to serve the neighborhood.

You may also need to procure a policeman directing traffic, at least in the morning, because of the problems caused by all of the cars. And the high school kids who drive are not the safest drivers around. And the increased congestion, coupled with hurrying to get your kid to school, won't help matters.

Worried about the safety of children in the area with more traffic going through my neighborhood.

This is a bad idea. Keep the rectangular building on be north side of Shea. Too much traffic will be created and it will ruin he integrity of the neighborhood.

Residents have the rights to protect their neighborhoods.

The corner of 128th and Shea is already a very dangerous intersection. 128th Street is a two-way road - a residential road and cannot handle the traffic of a large school. Access for emergency vehicles will also be stressed. I can't imagine a crossing guard directing traffic on Shea Blvd.! Seriously! Suppose you re-direct traffic. That only exacerbates the situation. A quagmire!!!!!! All commercial buildings within the city must have adequate parking spaces for the number of people using the school. This project should be scrubbed, already a busy area, lots of room in other areas.

Very concerned with the safety of the BASIS students, their families, our families, and our communities... Why on earth would you put a school off of a primary 6 lane road, where cars are travelling at 50+ mph? It is accidents waiting to happen...

This is clearly too big a school to force into the current proposed location. For the safety of the students and local residents, another location needs to be determined.

The streets are too narrow and currently can't handle any foot traffic. There are no sidewalks. Bringing in hundreds of cars a day on 124th st, 128th St and Cochise will make the roads very unsafe. Many of us use the roads for recreational purposes including walking our dogs, running and biking. This will compound the issue making the roads very dangerous.

Safety comes first!
