Major liability concerns making Kanan an alternative parking lot. One accident attributed to this short sighted / premature construction plan will negate any solar savings for years to come.

Love the idea of going green and solar and understand Edison has a timeline - however- young drivers + parallel parking on Kanan road = ACCIDENT - not sure who the genius was who thought of that but let's rethink it- sSchool only does solar on half lot then other half keeping lot open? Acquire off campus parking and shuttle kids in? Block one lane of Kanan and kids pull in and park ? Something else -
Come on people back to the drawing board and let's put safety first then figure out solar --

Wait to build the solar panels. It will create less traffic on kanon and outside of the front of OPHS.

This is insane. How can the district be so blind to the traffic patterns on Kanan during the AM & PM drop off times. Do they really expect our kids to be able to park the parking during these traffic hours. Waitng sound like the logical approach.

I know many of my friends and my own parents don't want to have to wait around for this thing to finish. I respect y'all, but please wait until summer so we can have a reasonable place to park.

This is completely unacceptable for the safety of our children! I urge you to wait until summer, when far less students, teachers and neighbors will be affected. This is the absolutely insane!

This is outrageous but sadly typical of OPUSD. I wonder how much money they will save if - Heaven forbid - a student gets hurt because of the school district's careless decision?

There is no reason do not delay the parking lot construction till the summer.
Worst case scenario the school would have to return every dollar to every parent pay for parking for all thousand students.
