As an adjunct who volunteered to teach in-person the Fall 2021 semester I wholeheartedly support limiting class size. One of the comforting aspects of teaching in-person is that there are limited classes, and student on campus. This gives students and instructors an additional level of comfort, in an otherwise risky arrangement.

A decrease in student to faculty ratio enhances significantly infection transmission, improves student-faculty interaction and learning. I highly agree that a change as described in petition would prove favorable to both students and faculty. Retired Nursing Professor

We (the students, faculty, and staff) at LACCD petition to lower class caps for in-person instruction and reduce in-person services during the winter and spring 2022 due to the imminent risks to health and safety. We trust the Board of Trustees will support the well-being of each campus and their use of HEERF funds to accomplish this goal.

I think class size should be low (15 - 20), but I don't know what it means by reducing in-person services. I actually think we should have more in-person services--for example, our library should be open to students, at least so that they can reserve and pick up books. Health and couseling services should also be available in-person; there is no reason we cannot have these types of services offered outdoors beneath tents.
