We must fight to see to it that the Board of Trustees at least pretends to care about students, staff, faculty and education!

We need to keep everyone safe and help bring about an end to this pandemic.

This is no longer only about teachers, student success or about workplace safety. It's about common decency, safety and humanity. Or does nobody give a damn about those things, at all? So long as administrators, lobbyists and other political hacks have salaries and benefits for life?

I fully endorse this petition, We are still in a pandemic period. Obviously, our health and safety should be a top priority.

These are difficult times.

Vaccines are working much slower than anticipated and smaller class caps are an important measure to help squash the further spread among our service communities. Our providers deserve our best efforts to ensure their safety as well. The testing still needs to be ramped up further on account of vaccinated individuals still getting break-through COVID cases. Classrooms are a firestorm waiting to happen unless the strongest measures are taken to prevent outbreaks.

Cleaner campus. Mental Health support for reengagement.

We need better staff and student check ins to campus too. This is a safety issue.

I am heartened by LACC’s lower class caps, which have contributed to safer classrooms and less illness.

I teach at two colleges and we need this!

A cap on in-person instruction is seriously needed for safety reasons.

Smaller classes sizes are a tremendous benefit for both students and teachers during "normal" times, but that benefit is exponentially greater during the chaotic time we find ourselves in today.

As we head into the new school year, we need to acknowledge that this pandemic is not over yet, and that students and workers of LACCD district will still be impacted by its presence. Because of this, the undersigned demand that LACCD provides more remote options to support its students and employees. If this solution is properly implemented, students and employees will feel supported as they try their best to maintain the safety of all students and employees. Providing more online courses and connectivity between fellow students and employees will make a more safety environment. Covid-19 has significantly impacted many lives causing high levels of stress, anxiety, and an overall negative impact on mental and physical health. I believe that both students and employees of the LACCD district should have an option of how they want to continue with their jobs and education. Having the option of how students and employees want to continue with their courses and jobs will influence the mental health, stability, and the safety of the LACCD community.

In addition to masks, social/physical distancing is necessary to keep risk of infection to a reasonable level. That's not possible if we pack students into a room like sardines.

I would like to keep the class size low and have everyone get tested on a weekly basis to prevent spreading the virus since vaccinated people also could get sick and spread the virus.
