The Sainsbury lorries unloading pose a persistent hazard and on pavement parking needs to be reviewed.
The entire strip past should be reduced to 20 mph, the public realm altered / additional calming measures and enforcement of the 20 mph speed limit should take place (as well as on the adjoining roads and into the grid). See TfL's safer streets policy for London https://tfl.gov.uk/cdn/static/cms/documents/safe-streets-for-london.pdf
The overgrown hedge on the property at the corner of Ashen Grove / Durnsford Rd persistently obscures sight lines. Every summer I have to remind Merton Council to contact the owner - a more proactive and permanent solution should be completed. the Council are well aware of the issue.

Absolutely agree that better crossing outside Sainsbury's would be much safer for all. Cars can be travelling at speed at that section, and because of parked cars, it can be difficult to see people waiting to cross. Please can we have a Zebra Crossing put in place and better signage.

Very busy road which on many occassions the Red Light no longer means "Stop". Suggestion would be to place some speed cameras, im sure you will make some "renenue"!

Now that the lights at the Ashen Grove crossing take longer to change the number of people waiting to cross really does build up. Trying to get my 2 year old and 5 year old to cross quickly is very stressful (there are often several people crossing in front of us so we can't start immediately). Plus we are often forced to cross near very near the waiting cars as there are so many people trying to cross at once.

I too have noticed the traffic lights near Ashen Grove take longer to change. This definitely causes a needless build up of parents, children and pushchairs not to mention scooters and pets to accumulate. Then when the traffic lights finally turn red there tends to be a frantic rush to get to the other side of the road before the traffic light turns green again. There are always several people and more importantly children still crossing the road when the traffic lights turn green, and you can see the impatience of the drivers who are anxious to drive on before the traffic lights turn red again. The change in timing is completely unnecessary and just means my children's safety and lives are endangered.

It seems that whoever made the decision to change the light response time (at the Pelican crossing near Ashen Grove) has put the traffic flow ahead of the safety of local people and children. The local roads, pavements and junctions are becoming increasingly dangerous and chaotic.

The changes made to the Ashen Grove crossing (the one nearest to the school) over the summer are very dangerous for pedestrians. The new metal detectors adjust the time pedestrians have to wait depending on traffic flow. This is causing large buildups of parents and children in the morning on the pavements between 8.40-9am. Sometimes it is not possible now to get every one across safely at the crossing- people are resorting to crossing behind the white lines in amongst the traffic. An accident waiting to happen. I'd also like there to be cameras on these lights in order to prosecute those that drive through them in red - I only avoided being squashed by large lorry ( driver talking on phone) here as I checked the road after the green man appeared.

The crossing at Ryfold frequently has vehicles passing through on a red light, as or after the green man appears and beeping starts. More visible signs and cameras should be put in place.

I fully support this cause; it's a dangerous crossing and traffic doesn't even always stop for the traffic lights near Ryfold Road, including a 156 bus the day before yesterday. Nearly mowed down my and my friend's 3 year olds after the school nursery pick up

Fully agree with all comments and issues raised already.
It is tragic that there has been a fatality already by these junctions, and it is terrible that this has not already been resolved without the need for a petition. Please prioritise this issue which affects many local children and families before there are more casualties.

It should be a top priority to keep the school children and other members of the public including the elderly safe. Along with the listed proposals I would suggest you put a camera on the lights as I have personally witnessed cars and cyclists jump the lights and once narrowly missing a child. You only get one chance in life, so you need to put strategies into place, that will ensure that no lives are lost.

this is much needed for the area. The speed the traffic travels at and the lack of respect for the traffic lights. Personally have seen people run red lights as there are no cameras therefore no consequences.

It is practically impossible to cross the road when Sainsburys has a delivery. You can't see past the lorry until a car is coming at you.
There deliveries shod be before opening hours, to reduce risk to people trying to cross the road.

The crossing at the end of ryfold road has now become extremely dangerous. The wait time from pressing the button to the lights changing to a green man is far too long. As a result there are:
A. Too many people trying to cross the road at one time and therefore becoming overcrowded - especially when stepping onto the pavement the other side as not enough room for everyone on the pavement.
B. People seeing the lights change to the green man and then running from further down the road to catch them (and across the road!) to avoid the long wait from pressing the button. This is extremely dangerous and something i do not want my children to do. These people are also crossing when lights are changing - when before they would have pressed the button and waited
