I strongly support this initiative. I have a four-year-old at Wimbledon Park Primary School and I am very concerned about the lack of stronger road safety measures for the hundreds of children who attend the school as well as for local residents.

Anything that helps calm traffic on Durnsford Road and makes it safer for pedestrians and cyclists is welcome.

Fully agree. Firms ford road is far too dangerous considering there is a school on one side and the majority of its pupils on the other. Something needs to be done

Crossing the road to access Sainsburys is incredibly dangerous as unable to see beyond parked cars (particularly cans) without moving onto the road.

A Zebra crossing outside Sainsbury's makes sense as it would be utilised by local shoppers walking there as well as children on their way to and from school.

The Sainsbury's delivery lorries should be limited to hours were they do not increase risks of accidents, they park too close to the crossing blocking to view of the oncoming traffic and pedestrians .

Many young children risk their lives dashing from the school-side of Durnsford Road to Sainsburys on the opposite site. They could use the pelican crossing further up the road, but they don't because it involves a small detour, so instead they dodge fast-moving vehicles, hence the need for a zebra-crossing to keep them safe.

That stretch of road has always been a nightmare to get across. With the expansion of WPPS & increased footfall into Sainsburys, the congestion is at an all time high during peak drop off & pick up times. Are we waiting for an accident before something is done?

With the expansion of the school and the increasing number of customers and therefore deliveries to Sainsbury's Local this road is becoming increasingly dangerous. All businesses in this area should be prohibited from making/receiving deliveries around school drop and pick up times. Signage needs to be improved and parking spaces on Durnsford Road need to be reviewed for sight lines. With a council encouraging School travel plans to encourage walking to school, the road network needs to also reflect this priority around these key times.

Too many people trying to cross the road at the same time between 8.35 and 8.55am. Impossible to cross the road within the white lines. An accident waiting to happen.
