Support Safer Streets in East Kensington (Frankford Ave.)

Population and commercial growth in the neighborhood make it necessary to improve safety infrastructure, a measurable aspect of walkability factors that contribute to quality of life. Please don’t let safety infrastructure lag other neighborhood improvements. Lots of families rely on these walkways daily!

I’ve lived near and crossed the intersection of Frankford and Sergeant St for nearly 14 years. As the neighborhood continues to grow, so too should the safety and care we implement to keep our community safe.

2632 Braddock st

I live a few houses down. Not uncommon to hear screeches or honking from driver error at that intersection. Accidents are common. Would love to see it improved.

This is a very important petition. My place is at 2111 E Sergeant St., and this intersection has always been dangerous. Please look at Amanda Shoulson's note about closing the extension of Amber St. This is spot on.

Also would like to add it would be great to get a stop sign on Sergeant and Cumberland. Many times I’ve almost been hit trying to cross Sergeant on Cumberland.

These two intersections are in great need of stop signs and crosswalks. Please consider. Thank you

Hello, I live on Sergeant Street between Emerald and Coral and cross this intersection everyday when walking my dogs and it is so dangerous. Please help make this intersection safer :) Thank You!

I use these two intersections almost daily and they're in desperate need of better safety measures.

Frankford ave and sergeant needs some kind of light or CROSSING GUARD ME AMD MY KIDS CROSS THERE EVERY MORNING

Greatly needed, especially with nearby playgrounds and the flagrant speeding by careless motorists. They're going to run the stop sign anyway; there's nothing to lose by putting it in.

I live on Sergeant St. and regularly cross Frankford to walk to the El and other destinations in East Kensington. This intersection is confusing and dangerous and would greatly benefit from a traffic study, traffic calming measures, and a crosswalk.

I would also like to see a study of Amber Street and Huntington. Accidents occur at a weekly rate due to the intersection being blind and it being unclear that Huntington does not have a stop sign. Drivers regularly speed on Huntington as well.
