Safer Lordship Lane

This is a junction that is already crossed by huge numbers of schoolchildren daily and those numbers will soar once the new Charter School East Dulwich opens on East Dulwich Grove. Time to look at a way to make it safe for pedestrians to cross.

This is a very dangerous intersection. It is inevitable that someone will be seriously injured as pedestrians need to look in 3 different directions at the same time and dodge traffic as they cross.

I cross this intersection with my young daughter in her buggy daily. It terrifies me. No motorists have any regard or respect for pedestrians. I feel I take both our lives in our hands every time I step off the pavement.

A horrendous junction that various branches of local government have persistently avoided dealing with over many years. TFL must not be allowed to use bus route times as a catch-all barrier to pedestrian safety. Southwark council cannot use austerity as a reason for not being able to afford improvements when they spent 150k on pointlessly revamping the entrance to North Cross Road. Local councillors mustn't accept inaction for spurious reasons. Safety does and must trump vehicle flow and if a minute or two is added to some journeys, so be it. Improvements cannot wait, the people of East Dulwich cannot wait: get on with it!

I frequently have near misses trying to cross safely with my son. And the number of drivers who don't indicate when turning off Lordship Lane at speed is staggering!

Had an incident where a lorry driver rushed to turn right from LL onto ED Grove, and purposely blocked me and my baby as we tried to cross, putting us in the way of oncoming traffic from different directions... Really frightening, and this needs a safe crossing for the elderly, those with access needs, families, and frankly everyone!

There is no safe way to cross this junction, which is constantly busy, and my kids and I frequently have near misses with oncoming traffic and turning buses.
