Other suggestions to make this safer: a raised crosswalk to the height of the sidewalk, or sidewalk bulb-outs to make the crossing shorter.

Pedestrians crossing Ocean Parkway East at Caton (when there is a walk signal) are given little to no regard by drivers. we have lived at 71 for one year and I have newrly been hit nearly a dozen times. Several of these times I was pushing a hard-to-miss stroller and still the driver blew through the light. We need ouf children to be safe!

This intersection is extremely dangerous. Cars go right through the crosswalk whether they see people or not.

Please work to grant this important request. Additionally we NEED better traffic enforcement on the Church Avenue/Ocean Parkway intersections. The fact that traffic enforcement woulf post a sign that begins with "Senior Citizens.." as though Moms & Dads with toddlers and strollers as well as folks in wheel chairs can easily even cross from Church Avenue Albemarle side with the highway exiting traffic shows the disregard for our neighborhood. PLEASE come & look. You will be highly motivated.

I live about two blocks away as well. I support having a cross guard here as well. This intersection is notorious.

I've tried crossing at this intersection with my 2 small children, and driver after driver would not stop from turning when it was the pedestrians light. Please do not hesitate to make proper changes. Give pedestrians a separate light signal. Bring back the crossing guard for our school children. The crossing guards at Ocean Parkway and Caton (on the same block as PS 130 Lower School) and E7th street and Caton are not needed at those locations as much as the intersection being petitioned. Ideally, there should be one more crossing guard (which was the case last school year), and the signal light for pedestrians should not be shared with the vehicles turning (often fast).

Terrifying intersection.

Please add Multiple crossing guards on the corner of Ocean Parkway east and Caton Ave. Both drivers and pedestrians would benefit from a professional helping keep traffic organized. Thank you.

My 11-year-old crosses here twice a day and I worry about his safety!

I have been acutely away of this. Also there is a crossing guard one block away at an intersection that gets next to no traffic at all! It is actually far far safer to cross the intersection against the signal because there are a negligible amount of cars continuing across the access road crossing Caton. The cars going both directions on Caton cross the pedestrian walkway with wanton disregard

Someone WILL get hit by a car here. I've become that crazy lady who yells at the cars that plow through the intersection without looking. It happens so frequently, I expect it. The crossing guards were rightly yelling at the cars last year too! We need MORE than a crossing guard. We need signage saying it's a school zone for a start.

A friend got hit by a car while on her bike and got a broken back when the car made an illegal turn. I am alway wary of crossing Caton--especially there.

I don't have a child going to these schools but as botha driver and a pedestrian in this area, have well been aware of the problems of crossing the street at this intersection.

Please both reinstate the Traffic Enforcement Agent that was posted at this intersection during school hours AND add school crossing/yield to pedestrians signage. I see cars make that left turn without even looking for people in the crosswalk ALL the time.
