We need to change the light pattern so the yellow blinking left turn arrow is not flashing at the same time as the "walking man" pedestrian signal is on. Cars see the yellow arrow and speed through the intersection, thinking they are going to miss the light. Drivers don't look to see if the "walking man" is lit up. The left turn arrow should be RED when pedestrians have the right of way. This intersection is a accident waiting to happen. Children are walking back and forth between the 2 campuses during rush hours. I honestly feel that Im taking my life in my hands when I cross there.

I cross at the intersection 5 mornings a week with my sixth grader son who goes to MS839. Drivers making a left turn battle with pedestrians who are legally crossing with schoolchildren. It is a dangerous intersection.

This corner has always been a problem as far back as I can remember. I have lived in the neighborhood all my life and even had to cross this intersection myself as a child as I attended PS 130 years ago.
Drivers take this turn way to fast and don't really allow pedestrians right of way to cross. You have to basically fight your way across the street and be very quick.
I never could understand why almost every car that makes this turn is in such a rush. And it's one car after another until the light changes red against them.
It's an accident just waiting to happen. I've always thought a crossing guard should be placed on this corner. Hopefully it will actually happen now.

I see the traffic every morning and every evening how little drivers pay attention to traffic rules in this area and drive recklessly because they know there is no enforcement. Its well past time to keep drivers in check and understand the consequences for breaking the rules around here. There are already too many pedestrian deaths that have taken place here. What does it take to get a permanent crossing guard at this intersection? The blood of more children?

This is a dangerous corner and I have seen too many times kids and adults narrowly miss being hit by cars who turn onto Ocean Parkway from Caton.

I have crossed this intersection for years and watched several cars collide and jump onto the curb and others nearly strike pedestrians as they rush to make the light while turning. Please provide a crossing guard and keep our kids safe!

This is a dangerous intersection for pediatricians. I hold my breath any time I have to cross this street.

Another problem on that crossing is that the people do not cross over to the sidewalk when coming from the subway but walk in the street making it very dangerous for cars to go abound and get into East 5th Street which had been a one way the other way before it became an exit to the Expressway. They should have someone there giving our tickets because they make it very dangerous for any cars and/or Access-A-Ride to drop off passengers on East 5th Street between Fort Hamilton Parkway and Caton Avenue. There are also many trucks coming down East 5th Street that are not allowed to be there, there are many signs stating no trucks allowed. There should be a camera giving tickets to the trucks and buses that disobey that law.

I cross this intersection at least twice a day and always feel I am taking my life in my hands. Please take any of these excellent suggestions. Thank you.

There is too much through traffic on this section of Ocean Parkway, which is supposed to be a service road. I think a separate green left turn traffic signal (not the flashing amber arrow we have now) at the eastern intersection of Caton Avenue and Ocean Parkway would help greatly, along with school signs, a stop sign at the intersection of Ocean Parkway and Caton Place, and an additional speed bump along that stretch of Ocean Parkway leading to Park Circle, to discourage through traffic to the Prospect Expressway or other destinations.
