I bike here several times a week and often have near misses on the way to Columbia Heights, Dupont Circle, Mt Pleasant and Adams Morgan. Please make Columbia Rd a complete street for all road users!

As a resident within 2 blocks of the project, the current layout of the street is truly embarrassing. Rush hour is an unpleasant mess of honking frustrated drivers who should be taking one of the many buses that serve the corridor. Outside of rush hour, crossing Columbia Rd NW is risking being flattened by car traffic.

The city generally & NW in particular is desperately short of East-West connecting bike lanes. Columbia Heights to Conn Ave in particular has NO safe way for cyclists to travel. Its past time to prioritize buses & bikes over cars.

Projects like this make DC a better place to live! I fully support the bike lanes, bus lanes, and pedestrian-only areas. I tend to avoid all areas that do not have this type of infrastructure and am excited to explore this area more once it does!
