I live in Mt Pleasant and walk or bike along this road regularly. (I don't often take the bus, because it's barely faster than walking a lot of the time!) I strongly support these badly needed improvements.

I walk this route almost every day and strongly support investing in pedestrian and bike safety.

Would make the commute from kids school to the office much safer!

I support this plan to improve transit service and safety for all vulnerable road users on Columbia Road. It will make ADMO a more pleasant, safe, and sustainable neighborhood and place to live, work, dine, and shop. The street design directly reflects the District's approved plans and clear commitments to provide sustainable transportation options, increase non- single-occupant mode share, and decrease carbon emissions and other transportation pollution.

We commute along Columbia road daily (Mon-Fri) and would bike more with greater bike safety protections in place.

We are daily users of Columbia Rd, by bus, bike, scooter and on foot. It is usually a nervewracking experience crossing the street with my young children from Kalorama Park to shop at Streets. Or croasing the corner where that young woman was killed just a few years ago. We are a densely populated community where the majority dont even own a car. We want to be able to take our kids to the park, to buy our groceries, to get ice cream without fear of getting run over by a driver.

I am an ADMO resident and a regular cyclist. Columbia road is part of my daily commute, wither cycling or by foot. It is a road plagued with heavy traffic where car accidents are common. A safer Columbia Road will make ADMO safer for its inhabitants and more dynamic for local businesses. Thanks for the initiative.

As a resident of Adams Morgan, I strongly support this project. It will make our neighborhood safer, cleaner, and much more livable. I hope DDOT does not give in to voices from outside our community that are trying to kill progress in our city.

I live on 17th St NW between Euclid and Columbia. Columbia is currently the most dangerous and unpleasant road I deal with every day. This project is urgently needed. Most important: bus lane should be included, parking should be reduced, and curb should be extended. Plus, as someone who owns a car in AdMo and drives often, there is no need for the stretch of Champlain next to Unity Park. It should be closed so that the community can use it.

I live in Mt Pleasant. I take this road to work. I bike because driving sucks. Safe bike improvements will make my life and the dozens I see commuting here by bike lives safer and will take cars off the road, improving traffic. Ignore the other petition from those who live far away.

The bus is often as slow as walking, so we really need the bus and bike lanes!

I can't safely bike between my home and work today because of how unsafe Columbia Road is to bike on. Cars regularly park in teh bike lans, and too close to intersections so there is no way to safely step into the intersection as a pedestrian.

i avoid biking in my own neighborhood because it doesn't feel safe.

Making the buses faster, the bikes safer, and the pedestrians prioritized on this section of road is a fantastic idea; as it is, the road is full of people double parking in the middle of the road and generally obstructing traffic. The buses move at a crawl. My only concern is that without proper enforcement of the bus lane, cars will double park in it, so it should be very clearly restricted and enforced.

The street is dangerous for cyclists and pedestrians and so poorly organized and confusing.

I often skip going to Adams Morgan or take less convenient but faster bus routes because the busses are so slow.
