I'm a frequent user of Columbia Road, usually as a cyclist, but also as a pedestrian, bus rider, and driver. It feels very dangerous and chaotic. I'm excited for a different, more orderly road that provides better and more segregated access to all users.

500 people were killed or injured by cars in this area (ANC 1C) in the past year. Bus Priority lanes, daylighting, and protected bike lanes are proven to reduce traffic deaths and injuries. This project is a moral necessity

We need a safer Columbia road! Living next door in Mt Pleasant, I depend on Columbia as a key path for me to bike around the city. The current situation is unacceptably dangerous and needs to change.

We need practical, safe bike access in dc. Direct passage, not zigzag routes that are cut abruptly. Otherwise, we’re promoting more vehicle usage. Dc is small enough to bike to most places

I had my collarbone broken in 2009 when I was hit by an unsafe driver on Columbia Road, and it has only gotten worse. Removing as many cars as possible from this street will make life infinitely better for nearly everyone.

This is a fantastic plan! I often avoid the buses in this area because they simply don't go fast enough, and the amount of foot traffic and bicycles deserve priority over car traffic for safety and a more human-centered neighborhood.

I strongly support this project as I frequent this corridor. Buses get caught up far too frequently and biking is unsafe. I can’t wait to see a safer Columbia Rd.

Currently, the bus ride on Columbia Road is very slow, making it difficult to get from Connecticut Ave to Columbia Heights and Mount Pleasant, despite their proximity. I’m excited for a solution that gives better balance to buses.
